I'm loving it. Getting a bit sick of just the 3 maps already (and even more sick of people who grab the flag at a pedestrians pace, turn around and try to jet off as you shoot through the stand at 200kph). But love it

It's soooo infuriating when you're going 250km+ and some tard does that.

I think that's what's going to put a lot of people off this version though. Until I'm "much less shit" the points won't rack up and I can only pick from the two classes you start with. That's always been Tribes' problem. It's not easy to begin with but if you perservere I've never found better gameplay.
A lot of old skool types have been moaning that it's a bit too n00b friendly. I think the maps are too small

Well I've ordered a new gfx card to enable me to play SWTOR at more than 5fps when it launches and this looks like it would be a nice way of testing it out in the meantime. Does anyone have a spare invite that they'd be willing to chuck my way?

They added a basic matchmaking system now which should help somewhat with this. Keep in mind some people have been playing Tribes in some form for 12 years or so.
I got banned from the forums today for having a rant about all the bullshit they keep adding to the game, such as Orbital Strike, and redesigning the fucking menu every patch instead of fixing the multitude of basic issues with the game - projectile inheritance, disc jumps, physics in general, jet pack energy, badly balanced/thought out classes... guh. Losing faith after two wash out patches where they really obviously completely ignore the community.

I've been playing dirty dirty hitscan classes trying to stat whore to level them asap so I can get back to disc classes

The trick is to fire with lead. The spinfusor's the daddy of the lead combat weapons and you have to judge how fast you're going, how fast the NME is going and the distance between you and then aim at where the NME is going to be by the time the spinfusor has finished travelling.
It's a skill all right. But you can get good at it. You'll pretty soon be doing 200kph, high in the air and wanging a cheeky spinfusor to the side and hitting the capper, also doing 200kph, at a distance of about 500 yards pretty regularly.

I've never got the hang of mid-airs myself. Something in my brain stops me. But I'm f00king great with long distance cheeky shots.
I'll have a look today. If anyone wants one, PM me and I'll see what I can do.
