Played some of the Alpha. Lots of concerns, it's not great in its current state - slow, bad/restrictive movement, lots of idiotic hitscan weapons, perks/levels etc are a joke, 2 weapons per 'class', the fact there are 'classes - but every time they make changes it does get slightly better, so who knows. It could be another T:V (what I expect right now) or a decent game depending on how things go.

Honestly I've read a lot and it sounds somewhat iffy, but I have enough love for the series to have a punt for £20.

( Although it's going to be free to play when it's officially launched ).

I currently don't have playable internet as I live in work accommodation.. If this is anything like the old times, I'll quite literally move to a new flat just for this.

Tribes was like someone took all the things I thought "That'd be cool if it was in a game, wtf has no one done this ??" .. and put it in a game.. and made it fucking awesome.

There wasn't any of this fanboy console achievement shit that's ruining games today. (I've just read the Quake thread too and it's made me uber nostalgic)

Spot on with your summation I think ECA. Playing with friends it's fun, far more so than any other FPS I've played in years. It has some huge flaws, but I'm hopeful they can at least be partly addressed through the beta process. I'm miri in-game, feel free to add me up.

2600k, 8gb gskill ram, vertex 3 SSD, 2nd drive to record footage to, ati 6990, etc

Hehe, nice quality capture. It's crazy right now that as a Soldier I can grab so much faster than I can as a Pathfinder - upwards of 240km/h. Interested to see what happens with the new patch this week. Removing the speed caps is great news.

Really enjoying the game so far. Working on a small movie which I should have done within 1-2 weeks. Doing it for a video competition I saw HiRez mention, first opportunity I've had to edit fps footage and really enjoying it.
