Totally should. I'm quite impressed that even in closed beta there are 5 Euro teams signed up already. Two completely new ones I've never heard of or don't know the players of also. Tribes will obviously never have competition on the level of a game like CS or CoD, but I would love to see an active ladder once again.

Just like Total Biscuit said, we need fast shooters back. Not sure what I feel about regen health - running around repairing folk, and being repaired, was something I liked about Tribes. Encouraged teamplay and all that.

Anyway. Had a brief blast yesterday (my CPU is full of fur so after about ten minutes of play the heat alarm goes off, must sort that). Liked it, is the first thing I'd say. I'm unbelievably shit again tho. Looking forward to learning the maps.
Gripes? Inability to choose the different armour types from the off is annoying me right now. I've no idea what the inventory stations are for. Two weapons and an inability to change them is also going to take some getting used to - but I don't think either of these problems are going to kill the game.
Pre-game interface is very busy. It's going to confuse n00bs. And n00bs are where the problems are going to lie IMO. I'll put my flag in the ground and say right now that I think with a game as initially tough and unforgiving as tribes, with the learning curve it has (which is what makes it great), the free-to-play aspect is going to make it a try-it, get killed a lot, become frustrated and dump it experience for many. There's no "I've paid 40 quid for this and therefore feel like I have to give it some time to try to get into it" impetus.
Hopefully I'm dead wrong tho
Other than that, there's the old familiar annoyances rearing their heads. 3 times on my first go I grabbed the flag and returned it to base last night, only to faff about getting shot 'cause there wasn't much in the way of base defence.
I'm supposed to be looking for a job today. Just back from Sri Lanka and I promised the bird I'd get straight on it.
