Sheers no longer cause damage their for you are no longer doing any damage from sheers to your target resulting in you not leeching your precious rps

no way last patch was the patch of lub.... Heals go out faster and for more truly they done good this time.

This needs properly testing for the druid as I know for sure shears still give rps to cleric (despite doing no damage), and the patch notes clearly state they will no longer do damage but will correctly give rps. Have you actually tested it or just making assumptions based on fact they do no damage now.

shears are better and you still get loads of rps even more then before when someone you buffshear die.

Nothing more dishearting than winning a 1vs1 and some random rogster druid walks by and leeches 1.4k rps with stupid shears.

Yes, with that overly impressive WS shamans display, regardless of race, that sounds like a novel idea!

Obviously shamans, if soloing, are gonna shear and kite the butt off of you, it would be ridiculous pissing and moaning about someone using their strongest tactic against you.

As for the shear-change on druids, it's pure love. Shearing not breaking CC, not 100% sure about the mez, I've seen some various results on my druid, but roots etc atleast, it's just sweet!

The rps leeched was out of all proportion to the actual damage from shears. Before the rp luv patch, could quite easy spam a few shears on something someone else killed at get 600-700rps..guess much more now.

Remember once having buffbot trapped in amg room in OF in a zerg standoff, F7 targetting and spamming aoe shears at the doors got 20k in 40mins or somecrap.

Like anyone (virtually anyone anyway) would care about the hammer-styles, more probable to see heavily improved aug/cave specs for improved kiting and, for the soloing shamans anyway, damage. 1.5 spec pts for shamans just wouldn't float.

edit: and sadly there've been people on more recent occasions, on other boards, that still suggest this in all sincerety, so better toss out some comments on it than have people consider it actually possible to implement w/o yet another severe balanceissue ;s

TBH Shearing is such a load of rubbish. It should be a temporary effect (lasting 1 minute or something) not a permanent one as this screws anyone that is out in the frontiers who is not in a group with a buffer (maybe these people with buffbots as DI Bots are onto a good thing here?!).

And getting RPs for it is the final insult.

I'm quite lucky in that quite a few FG's seem to leave me mostly alone, but the ones who think they are funny and try to steamroll you usually shear some buffs off while you are stunned/mezzed, and if vanish is up, we will vanish so that you don't get free RP, but then we're screwed in the next fight we have :/

Shears were added to add a new dimension to buffing classes, which has been quite successful IMO, the sideeffect is that permabuff soloers might get screwed, but TBH, it's a minor side-effect, and nothing really says you should undoubtedly be safe and permabuffed as a soloer. Just live with it, shears are fine.

makes no difference at all, only change being you don't have to port back to rebuff after getting sheared. the timer on getting buffs back could be long, like 5 minutes (or 2-3 if duration isnt affected by resists)

the idea isn't that bad really, only argument against it is a good old year 2003 buffbot whine. or that it becomes impossible to grief people by shearing them and running off.
