It will be three most likely, t-mobile don't have any tempting offers at all.

I just bit the bullet and ordered a 1 year sim-only one plan. Hopefully the coverage won't be shite!

Don't go with 3 horrible horrible customer service and i mean the type to constantly call you asking if you want any upgrades or on the half chance you want to cancel? by god your in for a ride if you ever dare to cancel.

Took me GF on the phone 30mins to convince the rep that she no longer wanted to have a contract ever again with them in the end even she a very placid person started to become very angry.

Even now 8 months down the line they still ring asking if she wants a new contract.

I've got two friends on three with no problems, and the network actually works perfectly. Best data I have seen by far. Best price plans by far too. I couldn't give two shits about customer service. Right now, reception and data are the most important considerations.

It's the lowest thing I care about tbh.

I know their customer services will probably be shite, too many people comment on it when speaking about 3.

However I have had to call customers services for my mobiles maybe twice a year. It's not a huge consideration for me.

As for offering upgrades etc, that will be a nice change to o2 :)

My friend has been with them for 3 years now, and they give him 12 month contracts and a new phone every year. He doesn't even spend more than £30 a month (£10 with his latest contract.

I realise that won't last, they are trying hard to take market share from the others, and offering silly deals to do so. But it's nice for now :)

So I went the Ipoo4 route after all. I had a long play with the DesireHD and I just didn't love it enough. I considered the Nexus S, but it offers nothing over my Desire, and would cost me more.

Get it on Thursday, after which it's repair time for my Desire, and then I'll be selling it off.

£275 if anyone here is interested (boxed with manual etc, unlocked)

Another vote for 3 from me.

Been with them since May and it has been faultless, way better coverage than anyone else I have been with.

Keep getting marketing calls though from them (like Aada said), annoying as fuck but I just don't answer now and it seems to have stopped.

So, my HTC Desire is all updated to the latest firmware, fuck knows which version, 2.29 or summat. Can I now specify the sd card to save everything in, you know, like pics, vids, apps etc?

I cannot find a preferred storage option anywhere, so I can save everything to SD rather than the phone with its gay memory.

Am I being Trem(thick) here or is there an option which I am missing?

Only some aps let you install to SD card, not all devs have updated their aps to support this.

Go to settings, Applications, manage apps, and click on your apps one by one, there should be a box that says move to SD card.

My pics and music and videos save to SD by default.

Yeah I've found it... so not being able to simply transfer texts from one OS to another makes it a bad choice?

I'll post a comparison in a few days.. it certainly does not have a lot of things I've got used to in android, but it's faster by far.

My only irritant so far is lack of customisation; it's where android won hands down. The app store is full of shite, and there is certainly more content that is charged for.

things I miss; the android / htc dialer
widgets
contacts / social network intetegration - the ability to fetch contact pics and birthdays from FB was quite neat

Ipoo is much much faster. The screen is glorious. The loud speaker works. I already have all my music catalogued by itunes for my ipod, so it was easy to fill up my phone. The phone is far too slippery, a case is a must, that rubberised back on the desire was genius. The iphone just works very well; the battery life is also better than my desire; it drains much slower when using games and music than my desire and my hero before it. It's not crashed yet (this is a huge bonus, android suffers from poorly coded apps).

I am going to jailbreak it; and with that I'll get the customisation that will make me forget about android until the end of this year when I intend to return to android 3.0 and the dual core handsets :)

True.

True.

I miss them a bit, was nice to have insta-switches.

ZOMG NOOB *points*

Just kidding. You can sync contact pics with your Facebook *and* it works a shitfuck better than HTC's FB's integration - my contact pics are actually up to date instead of being several picture switches behind like my Hero was. Birthdays, not so much - you can pickup birthdays in the Facebook app under "Events" then "Birthdays". I know that's not quite what you're looking for but it's the next best thing.

Ipoo is much much faster.

You're damn right it is. Browsing, moving around, dialling, scrolling, switching between apps, iPod functions, cover flow - slick as slick can get, a joy to use.

The screen is glorious.

Absolutely. Get the Wallpapers HD app, some whopping eye candy backgrounds in there. The Retina display blows the doors off everything else I've seen.

I already have all my music catalogued by itunes for my ipod, so it was easy to fill up my phone.

That was my primary reason for getting the iPhoney, seems to work well.

The phone is far too slippery, a case is a must, that rubberised back on the desire was genius.

Definitely, style over function - slid off everything. I got one of these which didn't add any bulk to the phone (a lot of them do) but it still gave me access to the camera, speakers / mic and headphone socket with the cover shut. Leather is lovely too, protects it well but maybe not from a high height drop but will definitely stop scuffs.

the battery life is also better than my desire; it drains much slower when using games and music than my desire and my hero before it.

That's one of the biggest improvements for me. My Hero running on a custom ROM came off the charger at 7am and was 50% down by 7pm with moderate use. I take my iPhone off the charger at 7am now and it's still got 60% juice by midnight with reasonably heavy use (several phone calls and 1 hours worth of music over lunch time).

Ummm, embarrassed to say but I forgot :( - really not intuitive at all unlike Android which is built for it. However, after faffing for a while I remembered.

Go into Facebook app, click on "Friends" and up the top right of the screen is a "Sync" button. The rest is pretty self explanatory. It's only contact pictures just now, but I suspect more will follow. Now, if you go into your now-synced contact in your phonebook, you will see that the "home page" is set to the Facebook profile. The syncing is seemless now. A pitfall of this method is that the names need to match (afaik) unlike in Android where you can override the link (which you could technically do on the iPhone by editing the home page link) in the contact page. So, say your contact is "Bobby" but his Facebook page is "Robert Fucknuts", I'm not sure that would synch automagically on the iPhone.

A couple of other things:

1) press and hold the main circle button for voice control, try something like "play Abba" (or whatever gay music you like Chet ;) ) and it will play from iPod.

2) press and hold the main circle button and then press the power / wake up button on the top of the iPhone to take a screenshot of the current screen you are on to save it to the Camera Roll

See im currently using a Desire, contract up soon and tbh im bored of Android (and its issues)

Im still unsure weather to get a windows 7 phone or an iphone, im leaning towards iphone, but winmo7 does look slick.

Win7 mobile is okay, but its weak for a smartphone os. It's not slick enough and has no depth IMO. Also ap support is miles behind iphone and android.

I've not regretted going Iphone one bit.

I know three people that got a htc hd7, all have sold it. try before you buy is my advice.
