The stuff about the colour enhancements is pretty interesting (and a lot like the stuff about the moon landing and the "faked" lighting).

The thread about artificial structures looks like the rantings of a loon though tbh, I have seen some of the Mars shots which did look like they contained artificial structures (the face and towers and stuff in the area that NASA havent photgraphed or crossed over since, can't remember its name now). That stuff just looks like poorly filtered/converted images.

Can't talk more, think I've posted too much there's some guy at the door in a suit and dark glasses................................................

Why would they hide the fact that mars is uninhabitable?

I don't even have to click your links, this is stupid.

Like you said it's all very very unlikely, and that xferrester guy has way too much free time :eek7:

So much idiocy, in such a small space.

1. Colour Correction - This would be plausible IF the images came from a single camera source. As it is though, the images come from three different cameras - one red, one green, and one blue. Each of these cameras therefore operates at differing performance levels, may work better or worse in different light conditions, or may just straight-up be badly configured.

Also those spack-heads on the 'conspiracy forums' (ie a bunch of 15yo's with nothing to do) aren't considering the effects of daylight at different times of day. Take a picture of the sahara at 12pm. Do the same at 6pm. Will the sand look the same colour? No.

2. The "mud" idea - so wrong. These people clearly know nothing about geology and/or have never been outside in their lives. I'm no expert and it's not part of my degree, but It's plain to see that the so-called "mud" that they're talking about is merely a lump of soft, weathered rock, similar to sandstone. Anyone who's seen sandstone out there in The Real World(tm) will know that that's exactly how it looks when it's been there a while and has had features ground out of it by sand/dust particles in the wind.

3. The guy going on about there being artificial structures on mars just makes me laugh - he even claims he's looking at a "dome" when it's blatantly a crater (proof if ever it was needed that he doesn't know what he's talking about) - then he claims that the artifacts in his enlarged .jpg are grid lines and proof of civilisation? Gratz! Moron.

OOOoooo you can sign up on their forum and bash them.

yes wf 'cause you know all about mars' geology, how many times you been there? :/
freak!

yes the guy is an idiot and his comparisons to earth cities i really dont see the similarities but to pretend you understand much more than him you are equally foolish.

and tbh looking at these domes, they do not look at all like craters if you compare them, theres also a lack strong shadows on them

and yeah, that MUST BE SOMETHING LIKE SANDSTONE, ON MARS, SINCE WF HAS TESTED THIS IN HIS GEEKLAB™

ITS PLAIN TO SEE THAT ALTHOUGH WE KNOW FUCK ALL ABOUT THIS PLANET AND ITS ROCKS IT MUST BE SANDSTONE, yes precious.

Good god k9awya, you honestly think that there is a grain of truth in what is written on that site? These are the same kind of people who would have you believe that the moon landings were faked, just because they don't understand parallax and image bleed.

The guy who talks about a face on the moon is clearly demented. The 'eyes' are not craters, they are hills. Also, theorising that the moon is a captured satellite, or an artificial construction, is barmy. Everyone knows that the moon is accumulated debris from a collision between Earth and a large body during the formation of the Solar System. The moon missions proved that beyond doubt.

If there were ancient civilisations on either the Moon or Mars, why on earth would they have humanoid features? Perhaps if dolphins ruled the Earth, then there would be some bottlenoses bleating on about 'omfg I just saw a huge crab on teh moon'.

Also, some of the images are compressed, and the 'structures' are artifacts from that compression. And finally, I didn't see Wildfire actually say that it was Sandstone, merely a rock similar to Sandstone. Get your facts straight. Next you'll be telling us that The Bible Code is true.

neither did i say he said it was exactly sandstone?

wf says they are craters, so thanks for agreeing with my post.

please remove yourself from sight i have clearly wasted more energy than you are worth on this post. blah.

Sorry, I worded it incorrectly.

I meant 'is Mars really uninhabitable?'.

Well, let's put it this way. If NASA did find out that Mars was actually inhabitable do you think that they would tell the World as soon as they found out? I don't think so.

They'd hide it for as long as possible until they got as much info on the planet as they could, then they would probably tell us a little bit about it.

Haha didnt realise k9 was still here preaching his shite. Allow me to demonstrate to you in VERY simple terms (im going to use pretty pictures so that you'll feel at home, almost as if you're looking at your Fisher Price 'My First Book Of Stones' ok k9?)

I love this one. The guy genuinely thinks it's a dome. Look at it - on the left-hand side, you see one large shadow, which would be consistent either with a dome or a crater. Move your eyes over to the right hand side however, and you'll see another shadow. If this were a dome it would have to have a 'moat'-like depression around it in order to cast this shadow. Ignoring the fact that rocks (regardless of whether they're on earth, the moon, mars, venus, wherever you want, they're all made out of the same atoms) do not erode in this fashion, this is extremely unlikely as you will see the same features on every deep crater ever photographed. The truth is that the second shadow is caused by the raised lip of the crater, caused by displacement of surface sediment as the meteor/comet/whatever impacted.

None of this, by the way, requires any more than to be educated and intelligent to deduce. Anyone who did geography at school has learned about basic geology and erosion.

Would professor k9awya like to dispute any of this?

no need to argue this, ok one pic of many posted is shown and the guy was wrong, needless to say there are many pics clearly showing hills/"domes"

try and make yourself look clever all you want but its not moving me at all because you clearly have no point and havent made me wrong at all

yeah the guy is an idiot but i thought we got past that bit

ps im stronger than you in rl

I think the guy in the other forum is referring to the centre of the crater, which does appear to be raised slightly. Just like many craters in fact.

let me show you a few "forum tricks" you may not have learnt in general.

if you wish to learn of ACTUAL QUOTING please observe:

and yeah, that MUST BE SOMETHING LIKE SANDSTONE, ON MARS, SINCE WF HAS TESTED THIS IN HIS GEEKLAB™
note the "SOMETHING LIKE SANDSTONE". a far cry from "sandstone" itself.. we may or may not agree, i think you would pick pride over sense. no need to read our daoc forums for the sole purpose of trying to make some "daoc'er" look silly, leave your grudge in that sad place we know as general -_-

read his post then look at the pic

he isnt saying LOOK THIS IS A DOME, he is saying "this COULD BE signs of artificiality"

what he is actully looking at is an eye symbol and a diamond, not a dome?

if its a dome, light is coming from top-left of pic
if its a crater its bottom right

looking in the middle of the dome/crater

whatever there is lower than the rest of the dome/crater, and its bottom right side if white(bright) while the rest top-left of that is dark, showing the light must be coming from top-left therefore it must be a dome

Right, lets find some life, on a girl's arse. Then I'll deal with the "dome/crater issue". This isn't about me knowing about mars, I blatantly don't have a deep knowledge on the subject. I am however a graphic artist that specialises in photo manipulation, and I know what I'm looking at in these images.

Anyway, life on a girl's arse, here we go:

http://www.teamshs.com/wildfire/images/proof1.jpg
lets crop and enlarge...
http://www.teamshs.com/wildfire/images/proof2.jpg
desaturate (humans have more rods than cones, black & white shapes are easier to make out)...
http://www.teamshs.com/wildfire/images/proof3.jpg
adjust levels (this is where it gets suspicious, you can make something more barren or detailed depending on your point of view)
http://www.teamshs.com/wildfire/images/proof4.jpg
and the coup de grace, reduce the number of channels in the image to 2.

WOAH! Did you see what I did there? Check out my alien temple on her left cheek. Crazy.
