Have you even played Bethesdas Call of Cthulhu from beginning to end? That IS a proper Cthulhu game.

Outdated? A little perhaps, but it is a damn awesome game. Has the Penumbra feel to it, but much more action and detective work. Try it.

thats penumbra for ya. you cant really kill your enemies you have to run and hide

I was pleasantly surprised after playing this tbh, its rather odd playing a pc "horror" game and realising you have no weapon to fight back with.

Its well freaky playing with the lights off and headphones on, and the character your playing is a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic.

he goes mad if you look directly at beasties so you have to sort of shuffle off and hide while looking at the floor and hoping it hasnt spotted you before barricading yourself in rooms and hiding.

quite enjoyable tbh. its had some decent reviews as well really.

nice to play a horror game that doesnt rely on shootouts for its scares.

I came to a certain point and i can't play any further at the moment, its too heavy on my nerves. Jumping at the slightest sound now.

Anyways, so far im really enjoying it! Well, if you consider being scared enjoyable... this kind of scare you remember from when you were a kid trying to reach your parents bed during the night before the monster chasing you caught up with you...
