ADSL upgrade time?

My exchange will soon hit the target level (w00t), however, I've not a clue how long it'll take to upgrade. Now I'm sure many peeps here must have endured this process, so a little feed back on eta of upgrade would be nice. (i.e. 1 month, 2 months, get on your knees and pray to jebus etc)

I doubt many have since I think about only 3 exchanges have made this target level of users that BT created a while back.

Bt have cut the activation level across the country by about 20%, so in fact a lot of peeps will soon have exchanges that will reach trigger level

I prefer the term 'tart'.

Anyway, it wouldn't happen if Emb wasn't so damn STUPID. :p

Perhaps you should check your line, and/or your service.

Mine, and everyone else I know with the service is fine.

Pipex used to be great, but now I get shitty downloads. And I know it's not my line because I max out my line while downloading from the newsgroups (pipex servers) but get 15k from an ftp I used to get 62k non stop from.

Nildram are ok. The few times I've had problems they've sorted it out pretty quickly. You tried calling them?

On the Trigger Exchanges, the reaching of the trigger level is only the first step. BT then want 75% (I think) of those people who registered their interest to file confirmed orders for DSL before they start upgrading the hardware. So you've got a while to wait.

As for my experience, I've had both BTO and Nildram. BTO was great for about 2 weeks, then rapidly turned to shit. I only really noticed how bad it was after I switched to Nildram, and everything just happened... 'more briskly'. Although like anything else, for every person to tell you one service is good there'll be another to tell you it's shit. General consensus of Nildram seems to be good though, they usually win the adslguide survey things.

I used to get that level of service, but recently random disconnects and poor download speeds have become frequent :(

My exchange reached the trigger a few weeks back - have a date of 20th August for it being available, so you're looking at about 8-10 weeks.
