Does anyone know if the jobcentre is forcing people into the unpaid work schemes in exchange for JSA?

I know they were deemed illegal but I have no idea if it still going on as if has not winged it way through the court/system yet?

I just signed on now I am a graduate and being forced into one of those schemes would really fuck me over.

I've been signed on for a few weeks now and nothing has been mentioned to me about them.

My sister signed on for 6 plus months and never had too. All of the people I have seen on the news appeared to be long term unemployed if I am remembering it right? Or it might depend on if there is a Poundland or similar close who are signed up for it.

A mate was signed on for a year, they sent him on a CAD course in the end and he has now gained employment in the field he studied.

When I worked at school, there was a woman there who was signed on, but previously worked for a Taxi firm booking taxis and stuff, she hated and wanted a change of career, it took her like 6 months for the Job Centre to change their mind, because they wanted her to go back into what she knew, when she wanted to be a TA.

They really do not help theirselves, they should bite the bullet and force the people who just want to live on the dole to do stuff like that, and be a bit kinder to those that genuinely are looking for work.
