Rule #34 - If it exists there is porn of it

Anyway, starting series 3 and I still can't decide if I like True Blood or not

Re: the latest episode... I still love the characters and interactions... but am getting a bit annoyed with there being so many threads on the go. It's a bit too much switching back and forth for a 40-45 minute show IMO.

And whatever game Bill is playing (actually thinking/feeling how he acts, or 'undercover' somehow and going to pull a switcheroo) he needs a right royal slapping.

Episodes 4 and 5 were very good, and Athan, the multiple threads spread over a long period of time are exactly what makes it good.

Franklin is a proper fucking mentalist.

Also it's not a 40-45 minute show, it's a 55 minute per episode show. They do a lot with those extra ten minutes.

I love arc threads. It's just it feels like they've put too many separate ones in this season, and all the switching back and forth is too much:

Some spoilery bits...
1) Bill being in Mississippi
2) Which *is* mostly a separate thread from Sookie trying to find him at this point.
3) Sam and his folks
4) Arlene being pregnant (and it looks like Terry isn't the father...).
5) Tara mixed up with Franklin
6) The Majister after the Queen for selling blood.
7) Jason being his usual cute puppy but what a dickhead self... which has a new twist in it in the latest episode.
8) Jessica trying to sort herself out.
9) Lafayette, which now isn't even just interactions at work, with Tara, and with Eric.
Yes, #1,2,5,6 are parts of the main arc thread, but they are just that so far, PARTS. I'm not stating this as an absolute fact, but it is how I'm experiencing the season at this stage.

Franklin is a proper fucking mentalist.

Oh yes, definitely a good addition.

Ah, true. I'm too used to the advert-full (in the USA) episodes. Still, I stand by my point that the story has fractured into too many threads so far this season.

Had been meaning to do it for a while but I'm about 4 books into the series now and for the girls who love eric/alcide:
Sookie gets jiggy with both of them

There's also a
Vampire Pirate
and in the books the maryann thing :
Is about 10 paragraphs or less of a swingers scene ( unless more later ).

Yeah, but they stopped following the books after season 1 pretty much.

It's getting better by the episode.

Also:

You know the vampire that got a mace to the head, how does that work? Would he heal from that or does 'immortality' come with a disclaimer that it doesn't cover you for massive body trauma?

Franklin is exceedingly cool. There was a huge axe next to that mace on the wall - Tara is dumb. Hopefully he'll recover and be even more bat-shit insane.

yep, they need a stake to the heart, beheading, burning or sunlight. They'll only die otherwise if they are injured and haven't fed. Franklin will be back :)

Although, there really should be a disclaimer on what counts as a beheading. Beatng ones head to tiny bits and then regenerate cause there was a flappy fleshbit connecting the ex-head to body seems a bit far fetched :p

This season so far has been very very good, and the return of more porn per episode as it should be.

Also, does anyone else think that Sookie's power or lifeforce is the ability to restore a vampires, or other supernatural creatures soul? So Bill is so interested in her because he longs to be human again.

I was wondering if it was just a Day Walker thing. The scene where Bill got kicked out of the van showed him not burning up for a few seconds. It's not clear if this was just him needing yet more Sookie blood to achieve it... or if it was (also?) proximity to Sookie that did it.

Now I'm trying to recall how close he got to Sookie at the end of Season 1 before he stopped burning up, or if he did. i.e. is the blood necessary?

Oh, and going back a bit, Franklin... key thing is his body didn't all turn to mush, so yeah, either they fucked up, or he'll be back. Just rewatched the scene... one pulped head, but his body is intact enough to twitch....

Also Russels bitch boy had a rant about how long it took to clean Franklin's brain off the bedding, but did not say that Franklin was dead...

You could take that either way to be honest. Remember he didn't like Franklin and it could be that the brains took more cleaning out than the blood and guts.... But yeah I think it all likely means Franklin is still around.

Also consider Tara's sex dream about Franklin. Whilst it's possible she's been warped enough to do that all by herself I'd wager it's Franklin's influence.

It's the effect of sharing blood with a vampire - same as Sookies dreams with Eric. It's not been said yet if that effect still last after the vamps death, so it's a grey area.

My missus is addicted to this. She has the books; watches the episodes religiously and even brought some of that True Blood stuff for a laugh.

I decided to come watch one with her a couple of days back as I was intrigued what made her enjoy it so much. My god - it's soft porn!

So, yeah, Franklin WAS still 'alive'... go Jason!

Bastards giving us the you-can-see-it-coming-a-mile-away cliffhanger about what Sookie 'is'.

Think I am right in that she is some kind of angel, and her blood is the cure for vampirism, or at least allows them to be day walkers.

I can see a situation where eric and bill have to let Russel drain Sookie so they can kill him possibly.

Franklins return was awesome, as was Jason killing him.

anyone got an idea what Crystals kin are? Werewolves or something else?

Good solid episode, great tits on display in the AVL womans ride at the end, and Russel on the news show was hilarious :)
