He is 31 with a year left on his contract - not going to be commanding a big fee off anyone, even without the noncery

Which begs the question, why did Everton feel the need to mention the player's age at all? The joys of "personally identifiable information", "internet trolls" and "2+2=5" in one neat little package. Innocent or guilty, they shouldn't be feeding the speculation machine.

Indeed. A few days ago it was merely trolls-being-trolls. It didn't get any traction until late last night it seemed when some newspapers picked up on it (Probably due to the police).

The local newspaper didn't even report on it until the very last minute once the cat was out of the bag, which was unusual for them trying to keep a lid the story.

It says at the bottom of the image - at least 2,600 people "interested in football" in each country shown.

All through the Euros, the implementation of VAR was universally lauded. Some of the decisions were questioned but everybody was full of praise for the system itself (especially the swiftness of offside checks) and the officiating in general. The gist of it from English pundits/commentators was basically "why can't our VAR be more like this?".

I think you're being far too binary about liking/hating it - you have a box for those who like it and a box for those who hate it and for you, everybody who has even the slightest grievance with it goes in the "hate" box. You need to separate the grievances into those who genuinely want the whole system to die in a fire and those who want to improve the rules/implementation - they "like" it but recognise that it's done better elsewhere and can be improved in the Prem.

If you watched any of the Euros coverage or are part of any online communities where the Euros were discussed, you'd have seen far more people liking VAR than hating it.
