I've had a couple of japanese cars over the years and they tend to be very reliable and of good build quality, same with german cars actually. In my experience French cars are the worst; the last Renault we owned had slightly different shades of paint on every panel and the trim didn't line up anywhere, did drive well though.
I think the GTR is a technical masterpiece and I'm sure very good to drive from a "best on paper" point of view, but it left me feeling a bit cold as if it had no soul.
Pretty sure you have to turn launch control ON, rather than the other way round.

How would you spend £100k Gaff?
Japs and germans make the best motors, rest are generally shit except maybe the swedes
So....
Ferrari
Lamborghini
Maserati
Alfa Romeo
TVR
Corvettes
Vipers
Noble
All shit then are they? Really?
I feel about the GTR a similar way I do about the R8, technically impressive, but leaves me utterly cold, and its far too big imo. There have also been some deeply worrying stories of massive bills and terrible service from Nissan on them, so I woud personally steer clear.
And again, like the R8, I'd pocket the change and buy and M3, and get used to looking at the road ahead through the drivers window. Or maybe save up an extra 15k and get the M3 GTS. Or a Corvette ZR1. Or a Viper.
Argh too much choice...
TVR, just known for breaking down a hell of a lot,
Corvs / Vipers don't do corners.
The rest, lovely cars!
You really have to be top of the food chain pro to get the viper around the ring that quick.List of Nürburgring Nordschleife lap times - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Looking at that, the Corvette ZR1 and the Viper ACR seem to have made it round the 'Ring faster than Japan's finest, and I've heard the 'Ring has a corner or two. The 'Vette C6 has been getting praise from journos and car fans all roun the world, and the Viper might handle like its drunk, but its just so damned special.
But then, I don;t really like Jap cars. I find them fairly boring and plasticy inside. I'd have an NSX Type-R, and a Lexus LF-A, but that's about it. The rest do nothing for me. Too much Too Fast, Too Furious imo.

To the average guy, the ones that think they can drive because he hammers it in a street, never done a lot of track days. A viper or Corv can't corner for shit, take a tuned out old MR2 or Supra, throw it in to a corner in the wet and see how good you are.
But get fully comp insurance first.
Yes, they are all well known bad cornering cars but the MR2 and Supra are a lot cheaper to find that out.So what you're saying is, an Mr2 or Supra can't corner for shit either?
Glad we agree.
