Neo isn't really the one. Its all just been a string of coincidences.

I once moved a beer can by waving my hand. At the time my depth perception wasn't very good though, so its possible I just hit it.

Perhaps because he's an exile or something.

I was thinking he was edging to go because they were expecting smith because they brought him there. Or something.

Rooms 101

First film: Neo lives in Room 101? (Or was it 303?).
Reloaded: The Maravingian operates on the 101st floor of his building.

Assuming I remember right about Neo's room number, have they been lazy and reusing their references? Or is there supposed to be a link?

Having never read 1984 I'm floundering round the net trying to get a definitive description of what Room 101 is - which no one seems willing to give me, though one book analysis suggests "101 is the usual code for “basic information”" - I have no idea if that is informed or not.

I don't know whether it's a delibrate link - Neo wakes up and discovers he's God from Room 101, and passes through the same book reference on the way to his designed end isn't overly significant - beginning and ending maybe, but a passing reference in the middle seems a little odd.

He's not your own personal Jesus Christ... he's a very naughty boy...

Isn't Room 101 where B-list celebs put things that annoy them?

It's that as well - though that is itself a reference to 1984.

It would be mildly disappointing if, when Neo wakes up wherever the hell he is in this coma and discovered Paul Merton was behind it all...

I can't stop thinking about the Oracle/red pill/Smith showing up incident now.. there has to be a connection surely!

Can't wait to see Revolutions now.

I dunno, I think I'd prefer that ending to an orwell one.

Personally I think that monkeys took over the earth and created the matrix. A matrix which contains the machines and the matrix that the humans live in.

Oops.. sorry about that :)

Whipped: "Welcome our special guest Neo!"
"What?"
"So, what three things would like to put in Room 101?"
*here follows 30 minutes of light relief before whatever big showdown the Wachowskis have planned*

Having not read 1984 either, I'm probably wrong but I vaguely remember it being the place where people get sent to be brainwashed.

'You asked me once,' said O'Brien, 'what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.'

By the by, does anyone know the name of the track that plays when Neo fights the vampire type things in the house in the mountains? It r gud.

Ngh.. I think it's Rob D - Chateau. Can't find anywhere to get a sample (kazaa et al are out the question cos I'm at work). Any ideas where I could get a 30sec clip? 's not on amazon/play.

edit: nm, found it on hmv!

Go buy the soudtrack CD ya lazy bastage!

Tis quite quite good :)

As for Oracle/red pill/Smith:

The Oracle is a liar, a program designed to manipulate successive "messiahs" towards the Source, thereby reloading the Matrix & destroying Zion.

Agents are designed for the same purpose, so to find the two working together is no great shock.

I suspect there's more to it than that, we shall have to wait and see.

Btw, I wouldn't be seen dead with that matrix soudntrack. It has Linkin Park *shudder*. The two rob d tracks on it are all that I want plz.

Oh and, I think one of the reasons I found the majority of the fight scenes so dull was the music. When the agents bash through "hiya fellas", and the music kicks in, I got shivers "shit movie? what are they talking about, this'll be fantastic!". Then the burly brawl, shit track, shit fight. The chateau fight had great music, and thusly god my adrenaline going.

Rob D... he is the answer to the Matrix's woes.

I prefer CD2, with the score on it. It's great, although CD1 isn't that bad tbh.

I thought that was just a hint at him being as hard as fuck.

edit:// And i think he's been introduced too late in the story for his character to be really developed.

You've all spoiled Damini's thread with inane dribblings about Einstein's conservation of energy theory ffs.

Back on topic :

I have a massive fuck off bluebottle sitting on my screen.

It looks like Neo...

My one hope for revolutions is that the annoying kid who gives Neo the spoon gets ripped to pieces by a sentinel :D

well maybe that is the point, the machines have put in these people who will make a film about the Matrix which will make us think that we arnt in the Matrix because we made a film about it!
but if we are in the Matrix, it would explain a lot of shit.

its also possible wij and stu were programmed in to make us think its not impossible to use humans for energy which again makes us think that the Matrix cant exist :help:

Just watched the film and I enjoyed every minute of it!!

Now I can read through all these pages of gumf...

I thought the fight scenes were pretty damn good....yes there is nothing really new there but was still good fun to watch.

I also enjoyed the sound track quite a lot too....set a great mood!

Yeah. I've lost count of the times I've seen someone in a suit jump inhuman distances, and flying around like Superman!
