Amazing episode, I really enjoyed it

Good to see we have the start of a seperate story line, i'm very interested to know how much information Rush actually has and also what's in those tunnels!

I like the way they play with your expectations, ie

In any other stargate series, rush would have come out the machine with the code and saved the day

Yep, episode 14 for those behind btw

It was really well paced, Carlyle is a brilliant actor and the scenes with him and his wife were really emotional. Should be interesting to see how long they leave the others stranded and what they find down there.

Just watched 11-14 almost back to back.

The pacing has become much better and there's a stronger sense of tension.

I was impressed that basically most of episode 11 was a space battle in progress. Great stuff.

Good to see cameo when Daniel Jackson shows up while Rush is in the chair. Nice touch that, and I hope they continue to drop stuff like that in.

Loved the reference to Hitchhikers :D

14 was a bit a bore, but that's SGU really. In itself, an interesting ending. Bit of a bore doesn't equal bad by the way, just felt like a filler.

The massive gap in the middle I would imagine. I had to rewatch the earliers to get back into it.

Another great episode, good to see a more personal side to Rush!

I've got a feeling we won't be seeing the last of those aliens! - my money is on them somehow transporting the guy in the chair to their ship and getting all of his knowledge of destiny

I reckon he was cooling himself down because of the amount of energy he was about to suck up. Given that he was on the chair with all the knowledge of the Ancients, I reckon he worked out how to ascend.

That would be a better answer for sure. It would also allow jacksonesque stories going forwards

When watching any of the Stargate series

You are actually looking at BC Canada scenery

One flaw in your plan, Destiny is pre-ascension ancient tech. It's been touched on many a time.

I thought the episode was very good overall, however
I was a bit dismayed that Scott, Eli and the bint managed to get back to the ship so conveniently

Apart from the CG shots of the ship flying through space, which looked *particularly* gorgeous for this episode.

It's a game me and my mrs play a lot. We try to spot scenery of various places in BC. For example, there was a shot on a bridge in the latest ep of Fringe which we thought looked a lot like the bridge leading into the town of Eureka.

Kind of made half of the previous episode entirely pointless. :<

Yeah, that did kinda bite. As did the lesbo connection.

I kind of liked it. Not everything is going to turn out to be a fucking huge story arc. Random shit is gonna happen and, now and again, the characters are going to be really fortunate.

It should mean that random bad things happen too tho :)

I don't know how to do the special hidden quote shit, but I thought they were only stuck behind because you can't gate to Destiny when it's in FTL?

When it dropped out of FTL, they were able to gate back to the ship as clearly the time where it WAS in FTL wasn't long enough to take it out of range.

Still, it was a cracking episode!

The episode, as well a sthe few before it, have been better since they now mix the science into the drama a bit better. It's still no action series as the previous ones, more bold and the beautiful, but now it's atleast interesting to watch the drama(like first seasons of BSG).

Although, you are underestimating the copy/paste potential of the writers!

The man is now...part o the machine! Ghost in the computer, digitized manmeat!

The quick jump back to the ship by the lost three stooges was fine enough, it wasn't going anywhere so they just dropped that, had a bit of a cliffy and solved it.

HAnd up who here would be interested to see the three sit on a planet and then have to ruin the whole show by turning the ship around?

Yeah, that was what I thought.

Either the ship requires a living avatar to be uploaded into the computer via the control chair, or the strain on the human body is so great that it needs to be super cooled before it is "used up" to control the ship.

It would seem daft to use up a life every time someone needed to interface with Destiny - that seems... inefficient.

On an unrelated note, who is the military bird that wears the grey tshirt usually - is it James or Janes? Is it just me that's noticed that she has an impressively large pair of norks? :D

I think we all noticed. Well, it would be pretty difficult not to -- they're fucking huge.

Yes but

We already had Rush left behind and conveniently finding his way back. Doing it again so soon is just lazy.

I remember back in ep 2 or something she came out of her room and I went "WHOA! BEWBS!!!"

When I get to watch the Shows on the TV I do the same.

The series Supernatural is 100% BC

The movie Alive was filmed 100 - 150 mile away from me.

I have to say, her norkage is rather special. But I'm gonna upset the apple cart a bit here:

Me and the bird are of the opinion that she'd never be military personnel with tits that huge - she'd be hardly able to run with funbags of that size, never mind do any lifting with those mams getting in the way.

I also find it incredibly distracting every scene she's in. But I'll try to cope ;)
