Not a bad thing imo
Ey want it to be the united states of europe. It's been talked about for the last 10 years, it isn't very surprising.
One border, one army, one taxation regime, seems a lot like a nation state
From what I've read today, the Spanish PM has already pretty much knocked the idea on the head. Not that, for a minute, I can figure out the attraction of ditching Westminster and cosying up to Brussels instead.
In better news:
11 Countries Gearing Up to Strike Trade Deals With Britain
Part of the reason I went with Leave is that there's a big wide world out there, and being a member of the EU limits our ability to set up trade deals with the rest of it. Looks like quite a lot of that big wide world has already got in touch about setting something up.
I love baklavahRemember folks, Turkey joining the EU is not, and never has been on the table.

Anyway @Bodhi - it won't happen for over a decade at least. But it'll happen. And quite rightly so as the world gets more and more tightly knit and we realise that our similarities are greater than our differences.
Plus, as even @Job has (mistakenly, on his part) admitted (somewhere) - the way to combat Islam is to have them live next door to us. This referendum showed us that that people who live alongside immigrants don't dislike immigrants as much as people who only have a few in their area.
Now, if we could just sort out the pesky inequality that's holding the whole world back...
Doesn't really matter does it? I'm sure there are 35 Criteria you have to meet to join the EU, Turkey currently meets about 2 of that 35 and they need a Yes from every single member. It would be ages before they actually joined unless the EU fast tracked it, which would be incredibly irresponsible.
As would the rest of the EU - so there's no worries. Erdogan wouldn't be the leader who brought Turkey into the EU - there's nothing to suggest it's anything other than a long long time away. I mean - the process has been ongoing for over 50 years and they've a long way to go to meet agreed targets:I'll pass on that one thanks.
Negotiations were started on 3 October 2005 and out of 35 Chapters necessary to complete the accession process, 15 have been opened and 1 has been closed
Ooooh! So frightening!! A United States of Europe.it would ne hilarious if it wasn't so frightening
Get used to it. Sooner or later it has to happen.

You, and leave, are talking utter horse-shit about Turkey.

Don't disagree with that either. But do you really want it built by failed politicians, at the wrong time, for the wrong reasons?
