Ruth Davidson?

Yeah, I mentioned her before about HIGNFY, comes across as a true for the people Scottish woman, and she's gay, so there's lots of brownie points for the Tories there ;)

War yes...persecution..bollocks, that has to be the most abused reason to claim refugee status.
It's pretty easy to gauge war refugee numbers, where's the war..how many people lived there.
The poor old refugee has been double fucked, had their home and society destroyed, then had every chancer in north Africa claiming to be one to try and get a free house in the west, so no one believes any of them any more.
Not even the most rabid dog bnp supporter would turn back a family who had genuinely lost everything to a bomb, it's just impossible to pick them out from 10 thousand migrants with no passports.

Sorry, that is clearly bollocks and also has little or nothing to do with membership of the EU. Except for the clear mismanagement of the whole situation by the EU.

You're like FH's very own Farage. Farage is such an odious little twat that he is likely to convince people to vote remain.

No it's clearly the truth and our refugee policy has fuck all to do with the incompetent self interest of the EU, we fly our Syrians straight from the war zone borders.

Yes, its a no brainer unless someone blows up Ormond street childrens hospital today.
Can't ignore 45% of the country though, the EU is going to have to meet us in the middle.

Yup, I'm hoping a strong leave vote % scares the shit out of them and causes them to start doing some actual reform.

A Remain win with an eyebrow-raisingly high Leave percentage (but not so high as to be close enough to cause all sorts of recount bollocks and the like) would do.

I reckon approaches to the EU will dominate politics for generations after this vote, but I highly doubt there will be ground breaking change for a very long time

Nah. They will just say. Well that's that boys. Here are some more stupid rules for you to swallow without ever having any democratic choice.

Europe will not reform, it will just get less accountable, less democratic and less transparent.

However they are not made in the House of Lords - they can be modified or sent back to the HoC to try again, however none originate from the HoL.

sure, still two thirds of your approval organs are not elected. in fact your MP's aren't directly elected either. they're chosen from the party by the prime minister, who in turn is appointed by the queen.

edit: also, MP's don't make the laws either. proposals are put forward, of which some are chosen to -maybe- become laws (pending approval by the houses & queen ofc) if the old boys feel it would be a good idea.

99% of business leaders and economists would say the economy would suffer if we changed the name of the colour orange to beloop.

This is why I consider the whole EU referendum a bit farcical at times, what you've stated and the way that the people that we have elected have time and time again failed to stick to the promises which they set out with in their election campaigns.

Hopefully by the time the dust has settled on the EU referendum the global markets have settled down and we finally come out of the recession then we'll all be hunky-dory because we won't have to blame anyone until we bust again.

I think the vote is great. Its getting more people engaged in politics, which can only be a good thing.

The more people vote the more MPs have to actually listen. The only reason anyone would vote at the moment would be because they want the least shit in charge.

It's getting people more engaged in politics, but it's still a negative campaign either way you look at it really.

Negative campaigns are attractive to certain people, but then can you really see this passion rolled over to a General Election?

If MPs engaged with the populous then yes.

Anyway. Aside from trolling our resident angry shouty man. I am still undecided about tomorrow. I couldn't give a tuppenny fuck if a leave vote screws the multinationals. But as my job essentially involves importing shit from Europe and forex stuff it would make my life easier to remain.

I also think we take in far too many Un skilled chancers and the EU itself is one giant clusterfuck of corruption that refuses to reform.

Meh, dunno

I've been waiting to see if anyone would bother referring to the evidence-based arguments eloquently made by Professor Michael Dougan - who's specialism is European Constitutional Law, posted by @BloodOmen here:

I like that he compares arguments levelled against him to creationists shouting down evolutionary biologists.

Did anyone actually watch this video, or does his calm honest evidence-based assesment threaten to shatter people's brains?

tbh, out of all the videos I've watched of people in his position, this is probably the one I've enjoyed the most, because it's just no nonsense, unbiased straight to the point.
