It's not about the guys views making an impression on you/the public. It's the fact that he clearly wanted to get his message across and killed someone to make that happen.

I'm sure there are plenty of people out there like me that willingly listen to different views that are far from their own. I'll often do so and think "is this guy fucking crazy?". To listen to another view does not mean you agree or sympathize.

I agree totally but in this instance it clearly was religion motivated, he wouldnt have been repeating Allahu Akbar while attacking the guy if it wasnt? if it was just a statement why not just hack him to death without saying god is great over and over?
