IMO, no point in doing new when there's other news sites, unless there's some special features only available at FH.

News sites are difficult to do these days tbh.

There's plenty of well-established sites already, just reformatting their news offers nothing useful, getting regular and original news content online requires a lot of time & therefore staff and has a tendency to start costing money or end up shit.

There is possibly one type of news site needed - a UK Games news site, what current releases & and there reviews, what the UK based developers are up to, up coming Lan's etc. With all the UK GSP's dying or dead there are no UK based news sites worth the time. All thats really needed is a bluesnews but UK centred. But as said its no means a small commitment for anyone to do one of these lots of time with little reward...

The old news site ruled imo. I thought it had the best mixture of games/hardware/software/general IT news of any site I've come across. I miss it badly!

But of course its time, hassle and grief to put something like that together, so I can understand if its not something that the new (old?) Freddys team are going to do.

News is something we've been thinking about, but in keeping with this thread, we're not sure if its a good idea or not.
There are loads of news sites out there and we'd need to bring something new to it and we're not sure what that would be, other than "our style" (whatever the fuck that is).

It certainly wouldnt be a website however, it would probably be a Forum. And right now, we're waiting for a new release of the forum software so we can lay the forums out a lot better, as they're a bit messy right now, and until then we'll probably give news a miss.

Someone will invent optical computers that are cheap and easy to make, putting intel and amd out of buissness (thus ending that debate). NVidia will make the Nforce Optical chipset for it and ati will retire to making games consoles. Oh and skynet will nuke the earth obliterating all human life.
