Lazy podge here, using a bike at the gym just isn't the same. Mine doesn't actually hurt during the running mind, but a few days after :/

It sucks, though I've got rid of a bit this week by being intense at the gym my knee currently like a balloon, extremely stiff and just keeps clicking and seizing up.

Bleh. That said, at only just under 12st, there ain't much of me to get rid off hah.

To everyone with dodgy knees. Try running with the front foot. Buy a pair of minimalistic shoes and never put your heel down.
I can't guarantee it works for everyone but my Colleague had a lot of knee problems and could not run for more than 1-2 km and then not run for 2-3 weeks. Now he can run 2-3 times a week and over 10km.
The knee is not the problem anymore but rather his calf (lower part of the leg if calf is the wrong word) giving up :) I run on my fore foot aswell but have never had any knees problems before I started with fore foot running either. Im doing it more as precaution and calf training :)

I have this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osgood–Schlatter_disease, except it hasn't exactly vanished since I was diagnosed all them years ago, it is in fact worse which makes me wonder if the diagnosis was wrong. Hell, it's the reason I walk and run so funny :(. This combined with a 'not-so-happy' knee on the other side. Really should wear the correct gear to counter-act it.

I had it when I was young, mine vanished when growing up tho. Remember it was hell during icehockey trainings, every time I landed on my knees was hell :( (I still have lumps under my knees but they don't hurt anymore)

So this sucks. 15 days ago I sprained my ankle, didn't even really notice.
It was a little sore after I finished exercising, put some ice on and didn't think about it until i took my shoes off in the evening and my ankle was really swollen.

Still swollen and sore, went to the docs and severe sprain diagnosed :/ Going skiing on saturday.... might not be able to ski at all :(

That really sucks ECA :(

I had my first PT session on Sunday and we did a basic leg work out (squats, lunges and leg rolls) and some arms. Arms recovered quickly however my thighs are still fubar. I've had a days rest from all exercise (except some stretches) but want to go to the gym tonight, however I am struggling with my legs ;( ... Not sure what to do

New Years diet anyone? Try some of these bad boys out! History has proven that they fail and give health related problems but I say, FUCK HISTORY! LOOSE WEIGHT! What did History ever do for you anyway!?!11/

Sounds good. They eat what I eat then I don't put on weight! Maybe they do grow to 9m in length, maybe they do cause a lot of health problems...but it's less health problems then without so in my Doctorate'd opinion it's ok and infact healthy.

I've gone from 23 stone like 3 years ago to 17 stone now (6'5'') I'd say about 2 stone of that was lost in the last 3 months due to Uni (5 days a week at Uni, 2 at work + no money to waste on shit food and doing Football every Wednesday) want to start boxing again as well but last semester just didn't have the time for it, am hoping my timetable this semester allows for it.

Tbh though I haven't really been trying or noticing it (same as when I left school stopped playing football, rugby etc and starting drinking and doing an office job, didn't really notice the wieght going on) So hopefully if I just carry on ignoring it and letting things happen I'll get back into shape pretty quickly.

you know the rowing machine is like 50% leg work right? It's almost like doing a deadlift with your arms at the same time as doing a leg press (although the resitance for both is lesser then if you were doing reps obviously)

at my gym there are tonnes of cardio things that are arms only. also, something like an elliptical trainer is arms+legs and imo very easy on the legs.

Yoni you don't have to go full-on every single time you are at the gym. (imo) varying your sessions is the key.

Decided to start keto again before going back to the gym. Have a diet planned out (Varying between 1,500kcal and 2,000kcal depending on how I feel on the day) - Started today, should be in Keto by Friday - Which means I'll start hitting the gym Saturday onwards. This version means I don't need any shakes too. Also cutting out any supplement apart from Craze.

Did a 5 min bike warmup to get my heart rate up then 20 mins of arms and backs (30 seconds rest between reps) and then 15 mins cardio (150 cals) before home time. Felt great afterwards. Tomorrow is cardio and then Friday ill work my legs again. Sunday I've decided to try a class :O

I'm trying to picture your imploded scrote but I'm not sure if I'm going to be sick, or whether I'm just turned on

I fucked my ankle at football, wnet over on it after about 5 mins, played for another 2 hours (I did notice cos it fucking hurt) got home and it was like a melon, next day its was a bit sore, then really bruised from the top of my toes all the way to about 2 inches above my ankle in a wierd circle (the inside wasn't bruised just a big circle outlice like 2cm thick) only hurt for a few days then it was fine, have played football on in twice since and it's been fine but its mishapen, looks like it's still swollen but it's not, it's just solid bone where it shouldn't be. Almost looks like it got dislocated and went back in wrong but surely I'd of known and it would still hurt now..... twinges occasionally but for the most part I don't even notice it.... should I even bother getting it looked at or just crack on with my deformed ankle?

No idea, from everything I read there can be a lot of different things going on and only a specialist could really tell you.
On the NHS you'll probably get told to walk it off instead of getting to see one :p

you could call it that, I don't mind. it's working for me, which is all I care about tbh :)
Not to put a downer on it, each to their own and all that, but you do realise you have to stick with it forever? If you lose loads of weight doing it your body struggles with carbs in the future and if you go back to eating normally you'll put on more weight than you've lost. Also massively unhealthy for cholesterol, heart, lack of vitimans and minerals, fibre etc.

When I was like 18 and had left school stopped being anywhere near as active I put on like 2-3 stone (played rugby and am tall so was always like 16 stone or so anyway) did atkins for like 6-7 months, got back down to the same weight, started eating normally again and in like 3 years I'd put on 5-6 stone. So from personal experience even without all the associated health risks I wouldn't touch that sort of diet. Any diet that requires you to take any kind of supplement obviously isn't healthy, not sure how close KETO is to atkins because atkins was very fat heavy, couldn't eat fruit or even coloured veg like sweetcorn or carrots.

As long as you can find a balance where you're not living off steak and bacon it may be ok, but lets be honest, eating like 4 times the RDA of sat fats every day can only end in tears.
