Well I was just wondering a good method to turn that 300M into more money. SOme peopel said to buy Blue-prints and make ships, but I dunno.

I wouldn't get into making things like ships - to compete you need a load of skills at V and its a saturated market.

Simple stuff like ammo and shuttles sells well as a starter if you can spot the profitable sectors for it. You might want to buy the 'industrial' ship skill - the Iterons were the best back when I played. Either build your merchandise or just buy low and sell high - dont carry anything particularly valuable on an industrial as they are often targeted by griefers.

Its best to plan for an endgame in Eve - do you plan to A: run missions B: Fleet Pvp in 0.0 C: Pvp in Lowsec D: Other

Be aware that scamming newbies is a major earner for a number of people in Eve...

Don't you get points saved if your sub is running? Only ask because last time I logged in I had tons of points from somewhere, near a months worth.

That was probably a refund from when they removed all the learning skills.

Thoughts on Implants?

I see that they boost your stats - which in turn boost the training speed of skills.

Train cybernetics to 4. Do it now. Then you can put +4 implants in. Will give you some more pointers when I get to work

Right.

First things first, cybernetics to 4 and then get a full set of +4 implants ( i can give you the money if you need it). Then, as Rynnor pointed out, you need to decide on an end game. How you make your money in game will be loosely tied to this. There will however, be numerous other ways to make money further on in your eve career but the 3 main ones are mining, production and combat. I wouldnt advise mining. That leaves production and combat. To make decent money at production, you really need to be highly skilled so I will concentrate on combat. Combat also paves the way for you to partake in PvP.

First of all you need to decide on what kind of ships you want to fly. They differ by faction. All factions have decent enough ships to make isk with and I dont really want to point you in a particular direction of a faction. The choice is down to you. If you were to ask me what would I do, well, I would go minmitar. The macherial, whilst an expensive ship is the ultimate PvE ship but it is very skill intensive and the minmitar ships are always wanted in PvP. Your ultimate goal is to be able to complete all the level 4 missions as this will be your bread and butter income and each of the factions have ships that are able to do this. Be aware though, if down the line, you want to get into nulsec, pretty much every alliance has their own fleet doctrine, under which, you will only be accepted into a fleet if you can fly the designated ships so cross training will be needed at some point.

Level 1 - Frigate
Level 2 - Cruiser
Level 3- Battlecruiser
Level 4 - Battleship

There is a wealth of infomation on the internet about what ships to use during missions. Personally, I would concentrate on doing missions for the Caldari Navy. The loyalty point - isk conversion isnt that great but the mission rats are easy and there are a wealth of agents. Search for EvE battleclinic and browse the loadouts there for ideas of how to fit your ship.

http://eve-agents.com/

Find caldari navy under corporations, then find level 1 agents. Choose one, go and talk to him and he will give you a mission. You basically earn standings with the corporation every time you complete a mission. You can check your standings via the character tab. As your standings increase you will eventually be able to do level 2 missions, then level 3 and so forth.

What I would suggest as others have pointed out is that you join a corporation and make some friends. making friends and being social in corp/aliance chat is what kept me sane during the first 6 months. I wouldnt even think about pew pew until you can consistently run level 4s for your income. You dont want to pew pew and lose ships unless you have the means to pay to reship.

Someone sent me this first and it's pretty good.

Just got ganked for my first time. Guy said my ship was ugly and killed me...so lame. Barely 3 days in and there goes my Algos I had worked on and made just how I liked it. AS for a corp to join, I don't know which.

For Implants, well, I should still have money, depending on how expensive +4 implants are...

Just annoyed. It wouldn't have been said bad if he had just killed me. IT wouldn't have been so bad if there was like a "Warning: Entering Dangerous space" I was just following the noobie missions from the tutorial and get ganked, and he just -had- to insult me as well.

I guess people were right about it being like WoW's community, just thinking they aren't. :p

Which security space were you in when you were killed?

0.6, I guess the Orange should've given me an idea, but it was at the request of a noobie mission. Usually when the mission features something new, the Tutorial pops up, or it says in big red letters taht something you haven't experienced yet is going on. Yet no such warning as I blown out of the sky before I even knew what happened and the guy seemed to think he was some kinda bad-ass for beating a barely 3 day old noob.
Thinking of getting a Comet and just outfitting it with, I dunno, 150MM Railguns or so?

Yeah, I'm Gallenete. I ahve Drones to LV5 training as we speak. I dunno if he did - he had a 106M bounty on his head. Such a stupid reason "Because your ship is ugly" ugh.

I know of EVEMon, but I can't get it to work with my API key, though yes, I did set it up correctly, and it works on their tester App.

Dominix, huh? Cripes, 468M....that's far away for me lol, and the skills to get there as well...need something til then.

Not sure if I should get another Algos...people are recommending the Vexor + Drones.

Dang - I was wrong, he has a 1B bounty. I mis-read it. So much, guy isn't some random punk...

If you are going down the mission route, concentrate on a frigate or destoryer until you can do level 2 missions. Doesnt really matter which frigate, its just something to use to grind the level 1 missions.

The classic mistake people make is just focusing on the ship piloting skills then getting into a ship they lack the skills to properly outfit/fly. Stick to cheap frigates until you have trained up support skills.

If you do go for gallente ships (which I dont particularly reccomend) you'll need the armour repair skills which require the cap management skills etc. etc.

If you are going to do a load of missions you might want to pick up some of the social skills - they can accelerate your influence gain, increase your cash payouts and make missions available to you that wouldn't be available to you until you had a higher influence.

All ships are fucking ugly in Eve! A slight annoyance for me when I played, though zoomed out it makes little difference.

I totally agree. Almost every ship is. They don't make sense in half the designs really.

Damn, why does the edit button go away...

So I got EVEmon to work - turns out if you copy the code from FIrefox it doesn't work - even if is 100% the same, letter for letter, with no spaces or anything. The creator said he is not sure why. Pretty weird.

So...it looks cool - but how can EVEMon really help? I'm curious.

Since training skills take RL time, you can plan your skills months or years down the line and work towards ships / builds / roles / whatever.

Ships look awesome in EVE. My favorites are the Cyclone, Nidhoggur, Naglfar and Hel.

Hyperion is so far one of the few good ones I've seen. Most are terrible. I know it takes years. Still.

I just had some serious money for me for the first time. Some guy needed 5.32M to sell a Plex. I told him I'd give him it if he gave me 10M when he got the Plex. Risky, I know, but I went on the honor system here.

A few hours later I had 12.5M deposited in my account. Fun.

Hmm, I am training Cybernetics to R4 - it should take about a day to do so...can't wait til I get the 50 day skills...lol.

So I should get implants for every slot...+4's as you said...if I can do this while the +9 is still active, I read i can have up to 35 in a stat doing this - which is like 2900SP an hour. Of course this would only be for about 10 days, but I imagine it'd be worth it. Not to mention, it's not like the implants just go away...well they do if I die, but will stay out of anything below 0.5 for now.

So Northern Coalition and Pandemic Legion have stabbed us in the back and sided with TEST. It is basically us vs EVE with all the major players bar rusrus siding with test.

Still, we have taken 5 systems so far and have numerous in reinforce. Even though we are fighting the supposed Elite PvP prowess of the likes of PL/BL/NC/Pizza and Nulli we are winning every single fleet engagement thanks to our superior FCs theADJ, Laz and Vily. Our back up FCs for when main FC is primaried are also doing a sterling job. Obviously DBRB is awake 24/7 doing what he does best, leading structure grinding fleets but the real bonus is the games best FC by a country mile, Mr Vee hasnt had chance to do his thing given all the engagements have taken place in our weakest time zone, USTZ. Should TEST want to fight us in EUTZ, they will have to contend with Mr Vee. If and its a massive if, given the forces against us, we take Fountain, we will cement our place as the greatest coalition of all time within EVE.

Things that make me hopeful we can do it...

Reimbursment programme. Our losses are being reimbursed within 24 hours. TEST members are still waiting on being reimbursed from 2 weeks ago.
Logistics. The goonswarm logistics team are absolute legends. All day every day, they are transporting the ships and fittings required and putting them on contract in the staging station. TEST are having to furry around getting ships and fittings from all over.
FC's. As stated above, no one can hold a candle to Mr Vee, but the sheer armount of Block FCs we have mean we are never without an able FC on field. We annihilated TEST and NC this morning, losing a handful of Tempests yet killing 20 or so T3s along with 20 or so AHACS, purely because we took out their FC straight away and they had no back up.
DBRB. Who else do you know who can play EVE for a month straight and do nothing but grind structures with an hours sleep a day?

Its going to be a great summer in EVE :D

Marc, this is all exciting. If I wanted to, could I help with a noobie ship as in the poster - or are they not noob ships?

As a side note, is Mr Vee in EVE, Vodkafairy from daoc (and BW/FH)? I recall meeting Stallion (the enchanter) in EVE a few years back and he mentioned something along those lines. Maybe I remember wrong

Tilda. We (Goonswarm) only recruit people from the something awful forums and the rest of our coalition rarely recruit new accounts purely because they could be spies. There is a corp within the alliance get off my lawn called seniors clan who I have been a part of before so you could try them as they have recruited newbies before and they are a good bunch of lads. All eu time zone. But yeah, our newbies are really pulling their weight during this war. Getting like 150 of them in celestis and they are proving to be a nightmare for the enemy

Haha, TEST jump bridge network in Fountain is completely down. All jump bridges annihiliated. That is a massive blow to them. 7 systems now in our control. Dont get me wrong, this war is going to last months but we have a nice foothold now.
Our dreadfleet got tackled last night and the enemy started mass logging in Supers. What happens? CCP close the server haha.
TEST score a minor victory by killing 6 carriers led by SUAS. For those that dont know SUAS, he is mad cockney who only ever leads fleets when pissed or drugged out of his head and doesnt tell goonswarm high command. Here is warping his titan into an enemy fleet.

Sorry, the goonswarm Vee is called Mister Vee. I just refer to him as Mr Vee for ease. There is a Mr Vee in game too from 6 years ago, maybe thats VF as I spoke to Mister Vee last night and he claims he is not VF. Does his voice sound like VF?
