Anyway, could you imagine TEST alliance moving to the NPC null sec near you? A 6000+ man alliance moving to Pure Blind NPC stations could have a lot of fun against FA, Goons and TNT.

Oooh, the amount of trolling that would enable.... It would effectively screw up their ability to field enough pilots for invasions and stuff.

They'd be forced to leave so many behind to prevent TEST from doing any funny business they couldn't do anything properly anywhere. :)

Hey marc, could you convince Mittani to make sure that would happen?

The folks over at CCP have put up a new, puntastically titled post on the EVE Online site to fill players in on some of the UI changes coming in EVE Online: Odyssey. The changes range from the miniscule ("you can now make the input field in chat a single line and gain like 20 extra pixels! Yay!") to the more ambitious (such as a major reworking of the game's fleet management window), plus a few things in-between. To get the down-and-dirty details on all of the UI changes coming with Odyssey, just head on over and read the full post at the game's official site.

Delve invasion is all systems go. Bye bye test

Most likely yeah.

But when that's over, how about breaking up a few bromances and start an ACTUAL war?

You know, one worth talking about?

We have thousands of newbros ready for this War who will be flying ships above. Us grunts will be in HAMTengus.

Ctuchik, I am but a mere Grunt. The King of Space, Mittani decides who we go to war with. I am not priving to the smoke filled halls of Jabberlon 5, where the big players of EVE make their moves.

There is a state of the goonion tonight at Mittanigrad in VFK where all will be revealed.

Game was 5$ on Steam, I picked it up.

Did the trial. Awful tutorial. Ready to become frustrated and admit I can't handle EVE and wasted 5$.

Haha, nah, I like it so far.

I already got a 6M ISK bounty for no reason, guess the community is troll ridden lol.

Besides some needless complexity, and some really poor mission tracking, I like it.

By "Needless complexity", I mean the cumbersome menu system which instead of just having a "Do this", you gotta go through 4-5 menus. Also, sometimes things don't work. You have to drag and drop. It's just like...some stuff seems complex, if only to go "Look! It's complex!"

Like I gotta jump to this location for a mission. I have a freaking Warp drive, and there are Stargates to jump through. I have to jump through 3 Stargates and 2 warps to get to my location. Press "Complete mission", then repeat the 3 Stargates and 2 warps back to the mission giver for the next. Just kinda...eh.

Overall I am liking it. I get that it's sandbox, but it is more like a box with only a tiny bit of Sand.

A 3 system jump is nothing.. Come back when you have to go through 45 of them, and half of them are through 0.0.... xD

I know, it just seems dumb. It's not difficult, it's just tedious and annoying really.

It is, because CCP would rather see you out in 0.0 pvp'ing then do missions. :)

Look. You will either love eve or hate it. But, you need to give it time, LOTS of time. If you want to fully immerse yourself, nul sec is the way to go. You will experience things that no other mmo can offer. PM me your char name and I will throw you a few hundred million isk your way so when you have the skills you can buy and fit a decent ship

It's Maxx Kilbride. I'd appreciate it.

On the matter of Skills, I've mainly been focusing on things that came in the starter pack, like Drones, Repairing, Gunnery, uhm, I wish I had copied my list down, but I already researched a ton of skills and have them. Any thoughts on where I should start? I plan to be doing some mining probably, combat is something I'd like to do as well, but not until I'm comfortable with the controls.

I've done a bunch of the starter missions already. I've got a Atron outfited with three Rail guns which I like. I also got a Venture or two in my storage, and a Smagnum Frigate or whatever from the Starter pack

Figure out what ship you ultimately want to fly the most first, then think about the skills you need. Don't train skills just because you can.

Alright, I just trained all the skills that took like 5-10 minutes to do. It's my first day.

Don't be silly. EVE is the MMO with the sharpest learning curve and biggest new player falloff. Those few hundred million isk is pretty much wasted. Advice, pointers and a few million to get some skillbooks is more than enough help for newbies

Well anything is nice. Most MMO's I would refuse the money and say I'll make it on my own.

But with EVE, I went into it thinking "This is not the MMO to have pride with, accept help, from anyone."

I have enough money to last me 10 years. With the money I transferred him he doesn't have to worry about isk for a while

Wow, thanks. I was looking at my 1.5M Isk I had earned, did a mission, came back, and saw 302M ISK almost, and was like "Wha...?"

PRetty nuts. Now - do you have any suggestions of what to do with such a sum? I've just been doing missions at one of the stations, Military, Business, Industry, Exploration, ect, they had 10 each, I've done up to 5 of each of them. I'm in an Atron outfitted with 3 Railguns and some decent equipment. It seems to be working well so far for fighting missions.

THis is just alot of ISK(to me), and I feel like I should be doing something with it so that it can grow into more ISK and not just deplete.

Any vital skills that no matter what roll you go down, you should have, and I should train ASAP?

Thanks again!

Marc, when Eve first came out, I started research (I think?) to something uber. iirc (it was a while) I scrolled right to the end, where the stuff takes weeks to research. Clicked it, and logged out.
Will it have continued going in the last 4-5 years so I can log in and make an ubership?

I'm a noob myself, but I can answer:

No

I asked the same thing "Will my skills continue to train after my subscription ends?" I got a resounding no from a bunch of people. To bad really, else I'd just Quene up all the really long ones like you and in time when I couldn't devote time to playing, just let the skills still advance.

EVE would lose a ton of profit if it allowed them to.

Aye, that's the biggest risk of getting free money in EvE. It can vanish SOOOOOO fast and you won't have a clue what ate it and thus will have learned nothing.

Best you can do is look at that money as an emergency fund and not use it unless you absolutely have to..

Buy a nice ship and fit it with really good stuff, then pretend the rest of that money aren't there until you know for certain that you can survive your own losses without dipping in to it even more...

Oh, well that's something i don't know all that much about. Making ships i suppose would be a decent idea, but if you want to truly profit from it you have to mine the resources yourself.

And tbh, i'd rather get raped by rusty barbed wire then mine in that game. :)

Don't you get points saved if your sub is running? Only ask because last time I logged in I had tons of points from somewhere, near a months worth.
