Piss poor. McLaren doesn't have a clue what he's doing. Hasn't got the balls to drop Lampard and play Gerrard through the middle in a 442, plays Johnson as a winger and keeps playing Carrick as the holding midfielder. Just makes me laugh with all the muppets who were so adamant we should have an English manager...this is the rubbish we've ended up with

Lampard is still a piss poor midfielder for England, all he usually does is blast the ball from 30-40 yards out.
It was a bit better than usual but that's probably down to luck more than anything else.

Poor Andy fucking Johnson, Mclaren should be shown his first interview for Sky sports. He said he wasnt going to put square pegs in round holes. He is shit scared that Johnson will score and make a name for himself so he plays him out of position again ffs.

england didnt do to bad. i wouldnt read much into it, after all its only a friendly. although i have to say im not mclarens biggest fan.

as for the lampard/gerrard debate.... well lampard is in good form this season and playing in the middle of the park for chelsea.
gerrard is out of form and playing wide for liverpool......
doesnt make much sense to me to put gerrard in the middle and drop lampard.

I sooo had you down for an easymode Man Utd/Chelsea supporter, wonder why that is ;)

On subject England did not look that bad defensively, they held out a long time. The worrying part for me was the inability to string more than 3-4 passes together without loosing the ball. We gave them far too much possession.

I'm just curious. From an English supporters point of view, does Mark Lawrence drive you crazy too? Some of the stuff he says is down right disrespectful (through my eyes!)

Lawro - very little infact nothing at all.

2 minutes later Lawro, oh England will have to watch out for Huntelaar he likes to get behind the defenders. He has no idea at all. He is a big massive fucking cock.

Lampard has been doing it for Chelsea for a few seasons now, yet he cannot carry that form to England, Gerrard is a better leader than Lampard.

One of them has to go that is for sure, if McClaren doesn't put one of them on the bench in favour of Hargreaves once he is fit again then frankly the bloke deserves the sack. Neither Lampard or Gerrard has greatly impressed me in an England shirt for a couple of years, at this point I would welcome either a change to Cole/Hargreaves or Scholes/Hargreaves as out central pairing. Sadly though I see neither Scholes coming out of retirement due to his issues with Gerrard or Cole getting a midfield birth ahead of both Gerrard because of the outcry from Liverpool fans or Lampard because the tabloids think the guy is a demi-god.

Lampard has been consistently good for Chelsea for 3 years - he just doesn't have it in him to dominate games at international level in the middle of the park. You said yourself Gerrard is playing wide for Liverpool and he's wasted there too. He is the only midfielder who is capable of taking a game by the nuts and dominating in the middle of the park. To do that he needs a holding midfielder alongside him so he can rampage forward (Hargreaves when he's fit, if not then I'd like to see Joey Barton given the role, heck even Ledley King can do it, just not Carrick). Then with Joe Cole on the left (with Gareth Barry as cover, not that muppet Downing or the Man U reserve Richardson :p) and Lennon or Wright-Phillips on the right that would be a nicely balanced midfield that would cause any international team problems.

Gerrard hasn't been able to play his best role because they've always accommodated Lampard. Scholes is past it - can still do a job in the Prem but doesnt have the legs now for international level.

Beckham was only average all round player. I said that all the time he played for Man Utd. He couldnt take players on, he could run onto the ball as moved like a 3 legged donkey. Where he was could was whipping in a cross, that was it. I wont even mention freekicks which people give to him. What was it? 3 years between goals from freekicks for England? And for man utd it be waste 20, score 1.

And now, he gets 10minutes a week football if his lucky. Why the hell would you start a player that doesnt even play at club level? He will not be fit enough, he wont be switched on enough to do anything for England. This is my opinion anyways.

England were poor, just the Dutch were worse most the time hence England looked ok. Only thing we done well at times was close down on the opposition to force mistakes, but this the only Holland team i seen that have no idea how to play football on the deck.

The best part the game was the last 5 minutes, England suddenly had some urgency in them after Holland levelled the score, and if they played that way throughout the game it be a different story. But then, i never been one to say England are worldclass. Unfortunately I know the downfalls of my national team :(

England are a second rate side full of talented yet arrogant primadonna's led by the person who was politically the best choice for the FA chosen on politics rather than ability. England always under perform my own view is that they lack motivation to win and at least half of the team couldn`t care less if they win or lose, why this is I really don`t know.

On paper England field one of the best sides in the world by a hell of a long way but never bring home the goods when it matters.
