They could try lowering the size of their portions

Variety kills America, the portion size is only there for those who ask for it. It's the fact that within a good 10 minute walk you will pass 30 or places to eat each offering something different.

I would say self control is the main factor
It plays a factor aswell. I found the problem when I was there was that there too much to choose from. For fuck sake theres ten varieties of Skittles!

There is fat and there is fat. I am fat, I take after my dad, he was fat and jumped out of planes with a big fuck off rucksack and an assault rifle well into his 40s (he was a para) and still runs the London Marathon every year (he is 50) I don't eat badly at all, I am just naturally "big boned" My skinny mate eats about 3 times as much as I do and the fucker doesn't put any weight on.

I wish I had gorged on 2oz steaks and big buckets of chips but sadly that never happened!

Anyones metabolism can be changed with abit of work, it's similar to your dad's because you probably have similar habits etc.

As for your skinny mate, personally as a 17 stone guy i would hate that, minute a food shortage comes around he will be history :p

Its fairly amazing to license a drug that if sucessfull will only lose you 5% of your weight and has been linked to tumours in animal trials, depression, migraine and memory loss?

That 500lb man now weighs 475 lb - is that really helpful?

Doesn't matter what drug they make, if they keep making/eating shit like this they'll never lose fucking weight.

Belviq Side Effects

The most common side effects of Belviq in non-diabetic patients are headache, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, dry mouth and constipation; in patients with diabetes, side effects include low blood sugar, headache, back pain, cough and fatigue.
There was also some concern that Belviq caused tumors in animals and heart-valve defects in people.

We've evolved to grab as much food as we can. Now we live in a time where food is so plentiful we're not all chock-full of self-control because we haven't evolved that way.

Temptation is easy to resist short-term. However, if something is in your face all day, every day, then self-control is incredibly difficult.

Which is why there's so many fat people. It's not easy. It really isn't...

Hence why I blame variety :p.

You haven't seen "The Men Who Made Us Fat" on BBC then?

Third ep on the way.

It all comes down to corn syrup. Someone back then realised that fat was bad, so they took fat out and put corn syrup in. Thing is that sugar turns into glycogen if you don't use it, and then gets laid down as adipose, which leads to getting fat.

In reality the culprit is cars and a sedentary lifestyle = we burn less calories - our calorie intake has only changed slightly over the last 50 years.

Its a sad fact that cars encourage laziness.

We've actually evolved -becuse- we grabbed everything we can, US just forgot to put down the fork. Not that other countries are far behind, UK seems to be on the same route.

US has always been a drug-country, where everything is cured by drugs and none the wiser. It's not going to change and it's not going to change the country, no news in general.
