I must agree Thanes, Valykries, shadowblades and hunters are so Fotm. And you also see a huge number of savages around too currently. :kissit:

Maybe you should rephrase your comment to Warlocks, Bonedancers and dark spec spiritmasters are currently fotm in midgard.

As to your third point, I wish I was a teenager again :(. You could of course be right though, since WoW has came out midgard have lost most population. That would however mean there are less currently around in midgard :p

you all seem to hate teenagers, but think about you guys. your whinny old people who just want everyone to be "thank you" "your welcome". The worlds not like that so why would a virtual one be. Teenagers add character to the game, I don't know what you have against em, but most people don't ever mature fully so don't say their "immature" (shitty cop out). Everyone wants to be a kid, so deal with it. Play the game and stop caring what 15 year old on the other side of the US says to you.

P.S I'm glad i'm not old and disgruntled like many people posting here =). :flame:

Other people get annoyed by their behaviour, i find having teenagers with names like 'lolblows00' quite entertaining in fact, so keep up the good work.

I found levelling in WoW alot slower than DAOC, and as for items, to get the best items you have to run endless amounts of instances, and now MC has been itemized there is a few more weeks camping that place. At least in DAOC you can buy the best items if you don't want to attend every raid.
I'm guessing you've not been to molten core - it's not really camping for a few weeks since you can only reset the instance every 6 days. Also some of the epic items are buyable (i.e. bind on equip), though at this stage of the game they're rare enough that anyone getting one will keep it, not sell it.

Instances in WoW are still a LOT more fun than daoc - since you can't just zerg the encounters there's actually some sort of thought required to complete them. :p

Silly statement that really.

I found there were nasties and idiots in every realm on every server I've played in DAoC as well as nice peeps. I've encountered great folks and nasty people playing WoW as well.

enough opinions more stories! /cry

sorry sir, I'm an OLD 20! 1 year off of a teenager. I'm glad you find me entertaining because you amuse me too. Hints of sarcasm are hard to pick up online but what can ya do :wanker: . Mainly, if you don't understand or know a game, don't post things that are your assumptions about it. Hence why I guess "flammed" those other children. :flame: . This was a nice post. All I can end with saying is I don't know where you guys find the time to play a game for 10000000000 hours to camp artis and get the best gear. I hope by the time i'm 30, I'm married and def not playing mmorpg's or corpg's (GW).

I'm 31 and I have lots of time comparing to when I was 20. At that time I was behind a bird all the freaking time :p

Ive been playing the WoW BG's for the last 3 days 24/7... IMO the Alterac BG with it's combination of epic boss summoning through quests, ninja opportunities behind enemy lines and BG goals rock.. I used to LOVE NF and the siege system.. I played my Ranger to death there.

The Alterac BG imo is better than the Relic + Frontiers system put together imo. It's pace is brutally fast with action going on all over the place.

Blizzard played a blinder here, and I just want more. If I could log straight back to the BG night after night I would, it's very addictive and has a very cool FPS feel about it.

….Then, while your playing and enjoying the battles, your gaining Stormpike or Frostwolf faction.. as you lvl faction you unlock new weapons and items.. pure class!

I'm drooling at the prospect of even more BG's in the future because I'm already addicted to these :eek7:

The exact reason why I'd never went to WoW. RPG game should remain RPG game, not converg itself to Doom.

It's not to everyone's taste, and I could understand where your coming from... But the RPG elements in Wow I find are better than daoc imo.

I much prefer to have instant PvP action at the touch of a button, right there, right now. In Daoc you spend a great deal of time looking for fights or waiting for a fight to kick off... The quest elements for PvP in the WoW Bg's are there and can turn the tide of a battle... Something Daoc could learn from imo.

Take for example a situation that's developed in the BG.. Both sides have summoned their epic lord. Both start to fight each other... for a moment both sides engage in trying to protect their own Boss, taking their eyes of the smaller picture looking upwards while the two colossus collide, Sky Captains air striking the ground around them… One of Lords falls to the ground and you have a faction retreating against the surge of assaulting factions accompanied by the triumphant lord… with your enemies falling in your wake… You see your comrade on the other side of the battlefield controlling an elite radio control shredder tanking 3 enemies by himself (after recently crafting the device from a quest completed within the BG) You run over to lend a hand and an enemy is hit by a sky captain.. He flies through the air into your path on half health and your thrown immediately into your own fight… Your jumped by an enemy Rogue who then gets knocked back towards the shredder mech by the sky captain… The Sky Captain which you previously rescued from behind enemy lines with 2 other Rogue and a Druid and escorted to safety!

I'm sorry, I simply can not compare daoc pvp anymore... even with NF. Blizzard recently released 2 very good BG's with more planned in the future and I can't wait ><

I've played through NF.. I made rr 5.5 to rr 7.9 in them with my Ranger and loved them, but tbh I can't compare these 2 games in the same league anymore imo…

I'm at work looking at the clock and I can't wait to get thrown back into the action :)

BGs in WoW are just action pretty much 24/7 if you fight at the front lines witch is nice imo. certanly beats the sleepy action in DAoC :touch:

It's not insta, it's queue (depending on the realm balance, active bg population, the queue can be easily described as worst nightmare). I don't play WOW anymore, but my IRL friend does and he calls me with 2hrs advance before coming home from work to login his char and get it through all the queues so he can play when he's home. If he misses this part, no PVP action that night, usually.
The quest elements in PVP, especially the NPC, are from my pov as a priest, incredible shit. Because whenever I heal I tend to get tons of NPC aggro. This may be because most of other priests play as nukers (hi, smite cleric).
Up to this part I hope DAOC won't "learn" anything from it.

To get to your roleplaying point of view now. In WOW all that you acomplish in the instance(s) is isolated and has no effect, not even temporar, to the world you are coming from. This is a major game design flaw.

I didn't see anyone mentioning the fact that it's a nightmare/impossible trying to get in battlegrounds as a set group or even as a guild raid. Again because of the fucked up queue system.
So I guess all those who are enjoying the random zerging of Alterac are the same ppl that used to do mindless zerging in DAOC, so thanks Blizzard for removing them from DAOC.

This is only a small share of the crap that was put into this game, I could go on for 2 more pages.

The queues for the BG's are just :twak: friend of mine plays and hes looking at least a 30 min wait (hes on a lowish server) if thats the "insta action" your talking about then ok :p

PvP is WoW is nothing more than a bolt on, they were making a PvE game and thought near the end "shit we need some PvP" and thats the problem, the game is not designed around PvP so I don't see how it will ever match daoc in that aspect.
