Hey Rambo! ^^
i m playing WoW beta atm but i want to see the end game
took me 9 days played time to get lvl 52 priest i think its pretty short since i did most solo and with the primary healer of the game! :p

lol i just started to play and since i dont play daoc anymore QQ :(

Shadowpriest's just happen to have some of the highest DPS spells in the game so there not exactly just a primary healer ;p

your a primary healer if you spec for it, otherwise your a secondary nuker ;p

50 Warrior, 37 Rogue myself ;p

it is rare for the game to exhibit lag.

acually.. a few days ago one of the beta servers crashed when the alliance made a raid on horde.. some 200-300 ppl and server gave up and totally died.

and the lag was so horrible that u couldent even see all the avatars.. most of the times u only saw ur own avatar and perhaps 20 or so more ppl when all the fighting really started coz the server just couldent handle it.

so theres not that much diffrent then in a DAoC RR :) loads of ppl fight = server crash :)

yes i know its still in "beta" in EU. but the fact that we are playing the same release version as the US does in their retail kinda makes the word beta a bit snafu :)

the nerfs were too harsh, to frequent and...

its my biggest gripe with mythic, they dont monitor or respond to massive imbalace issues fast enough. which means half a realm rolls, for instance, savages, only to find they get "fixed" 6months to a year later... it simply aint good enuf. blizzard wont make that mistake im sure :twak:

Wasn't SWG nerfed too fast and frequently? I remember people whining about it on the IRC channels I frequent. I think that it's very very very hard to find a good "nerf rate" and excuse to swing the Bat of Nerfs +1.

Maybe we should wait and work out whether WOW lag is better than DAOC lag and not even worry about gameplay or graphics :)

Yes the European beta is the same software as that in the US. It's the same software (essentially) as they used in the US beta. They got lag in the US beta.

Blizzard were quizzed about this and stated that they were deliberately trying to stress the servers to make them fail. (There explanation is in the press releases).

Despite the massive test there were still problems when Blizzard launched. Took them a couple of days to fix it and they gave credit etc but there were issues. There have been a few issues since. Blizzard's reaction has been to jump all over them.

They messed up when they launched in the US - they underestimated the demand, they were overwhelmed and they got slated. Somehow I don't think they will want a repeat.

I will also add I have virtually no lag in WoW despite the fact that I have a ping in the typically in the 700-1100 (I am forced to use a satellite and will be very happy to get back to the BT backbone).

:kissit: you said it yourself.. you are a minstrel.. a stealther char WITH SPEED, CC etc.. you can CC one kill the other run, away and stealth etc etc etc.. also being able to cower great distances fast kinda gives you the ability to relocate fast..other stealthers dont have this option.. and its about adapt.. good for you your playing the most adaptable class in game..

I agree with what you said, its hard for a normal to relocate fast etc, I can see a class pass..hit mach 5 and catch them.

I can see minstrels becomming fotm stealthers again :snooze:

mages are very powerfull but very hard to play right, you mess up at all and youll go down in flames, play it right and you can win 3 on 1's

Its neither just a statment.

But on a pro Warcraft point a skilled player can wreak bad players even with lower qual gear and through level difference, where as in DAOC template and spec is the main decider alot of the time.

You may want to ask the question on the WoW forums which are alive and well on Freddy. However to answer your question. Fundamental answer is that you can try them all and experience the benefits/weaknesses of each class. It won't take you forever to gain levels.

If you wanted to opt for a cabalist type class then either a hunter or a warlock. Both have pets and spells. A Hunter pet is more of a tank though (different types of pet available, fast damage less ac, less damage more hp/ac etc). Warlock's get Voidwalkers which is there tank pet. Like Cabalists Warlocks may choose to use a lot of dots.

I've been looking for a new mmorpg for a while, and wow is it. DAoC has been around too long, I still like it, but unfortunately I've grown tiered of it one time too much.

Will play it and if the endgame and PvP is as good as the rest of the game, I'll stick with it.

i dont wanted to get in this 'this vs that' crap, but there is one thing in wow where every sane person would agree on:

They do not force you to use buffbots!!!!

Agreed. DAoC would be much player friendly if it didn't require you to own a second account to be competitive in PvP.

Mythic/GOA should just double the subscription fee and give two accounts to everyone. :kissit:

Mate I can see where you are coming from with this post ...
And I think I can see where you are going....
But in my HUMBLE opinion buffbots were what killed DAoC for the majority of players.
Yes the most vocal and active of players were also the most commited.
However they were vastly outnumbered by the number of casual players.
Mythic failed to appreciate this. Indeed expansions such as ToA simply created a wider gap between casual and hardcore players.
NF tried to counter this by moving everyone to "zerg" thus allowing casual players to get "lost" in the mass of players.
Buffbots should never have been allowed. Buffbots gave "commited or hardcore" players the edge which they needed to satisfy their epein. ToA compounded this.
Your suggestion is to give everyone a BB. But at a price.
My suggestion would be to remove any advantage from a BB. Create a nominal level playing field in RvR and then try and counter the mistake that was called ToA.
