What comics did you get as a youngster? I got The Beano, The Dandy, and The Eagle (not the original).

My favourite strips were of course The Bash Street Kids, Korky the Cat was always good fun.

Seems a shame today that lots of kids won't ever bother with comics.

One of my earliest memories was sitting with my gran, reading out words syllable by syllable - from the Beano. I've many Dandy/Beano albums, as well as Ghostbusters and Thundercats.

I always thought it was an American pastime, like Trick or Treating on Halloween. Alot of people i know don't read any comics, maybe a couple have a small collection.

I can't really be arsed with it, as there's always alot more interesting/important things to do, like trying out the Rome: Total War Demo. :)

Beano, but by far and away The Eagle. God damn I loved that, if it was still around now and the same I'd still buy it. The 13th floor was great, max the evil lift computer.

Do Asterix and Tintin count as comics? I thought we were talking about the weekly things.

Transformers, then the Beano (the dandy if i couldnt get the Beano).

Fav strips: Rodger the Dodger

Most favourite comic ever: Its between Tintin and Asterix tbh. But i think Asterix wins because Tintin was gay. Either that or into animul lurve

Oh yes, i also got Commando, which absolutley rocked!

Ah yes, very similar to me. I got the Beano and the Dandy and then the new Eagle.

Also I got Spiderman and Secret Wars I + II when they stopped doing Spiderman temorarily to attract interest in those series and the Spiderman And His Amazing Friends TV Show for kids.

I think I had every Eagle tbh. Lobbed them down the tip to free room for making my house look nice to sell. Silly me :/

I collect the original Eagle annuals. I also have some very nice Dan Dare adventure books that go for an absolute fucking fortune on Ebay now. There are 12, I only have 3 :( Don't know whether to be chuffed they're worth nearly 400 quid, or gutted that I can't afford the other 9 (yet).
