Agreed. I'd go fucking mental if someone bit me on a football pitch. Likewise if someone spat at me.

Because sometimes an elbow or catching someone with your boot can be accidental where as biting is fully intentional, stupid and he's already done it twice. Ban him or pull all his teeth out, he would look better anyway.
Twice you say?

Soooo he should stop playing until he sorts his head out then.

It's less harmful than a bad tackle.

I don't remember anyone campaigning for Roy Keane to be banned for life for deliberately breaking Alf Inge Haarland's leg and ending his career.

A fucking nip on the shoulder? Yep, emotionally bad - but in terms of real harm...

This suarez incident is going to have people crying like little girls for weeks.

Nice video to put it in context. :)

It's definitely the way the British press are reporting it. Reading the papers from other countries they're like "meh, what a tit, got elbowed in the face for his trouble tho - no biggie"...

I agree, cos it's fucking weird. But not sure I'd react particually calmly is someone elbowed me off the ball or kicked me in the back when i was on the floor etc, we see this shit all the time so it's acceptable. Biting is a rarity so it gets more coverage but neither should be accepted and I don't see how one is worse than the other. Either way you're being a cunt and maliciously attempting to hurt an opponent but somehow if it's really obvious it's totaly unacceptable but if it's sneaky and underhanded we appluad it and say no more? Not saying Saurez isn't a cunt by any stretch. Just saying at least he's openly a cunt ;)

It's not so much about the pain inflicted but the act itself is disgusting. Worse than spitting on another player.

He would be strung up if he did that today and you know it. There's all sorts of shit that used to go on that you simply would not get away with nowadays and quite right too.

See first quote.

They are showing him loyalty, the same loyalty he'll be showing Barcelona next season.

The fans on sky sports had a fairly pragmatic view - he's a great footballer but he's also a cunt who brings the club into disreupte.

Can't deny his skill, although without the wild unpredictable side he probably wouldn't be the same player. Quality panto villan he is, a bit like Diof but with some skill.

TBH if we can ship him for 50million I probably would. Get in a Lallana and a long term Gerrard replacement. Sturridge supported by courtino lallana and sterling with borini and lambert as back up isn't too bad

Good luck selling him for anything like that if he has a domestic ban at the start of the season.

He won't. I really don't get why people think he will. It's ridiculous, clubs will take FIFA to court.

It's unlikely but completely within FIFA's power.

They should fit him with an electric collar. His therapist can watch all his games and give him a jolt when he sees the red mist descend.

I heard 2 year international ban and a 24 game PL ban. Leaving him open to a move to avoid the ban. But I would not think more than about £30m now. He has proven he is still only one moment of madness away from missing a season he is nowhere near the £80m they were talking about.

You've read an idiot view then soze. A premier league ban? Really? If they are going to give him a domestic ban for an international offence, then why would it only apply to our league? Press bull.

No precedent for a domestic ban from a FIFA event. Its technically possible, but its never actually happened.

Actually if he gets a 2 year international ban that will probably push his price up. No friendlies or internation qualifiers means he'll be fresher for league and european games. Basically like Scholes when he retired from England at 27. got another 10 years at the top because he was fresher each season. I can see RM or Barca taking a punt on him regardless. Bad boy player image has hardly put them off before.

"Fifa insiders expect six-match ban as the punishment"

Complete and utter travesty if that's what it amounts to

Yeah. It was on talk sport at lunch time yesterday. The accepted theory in work was FIFA can only ask the FA to ban him. As he has been banned before if the FA decide to ban him it will be for a long time. But the Spanish FA as it would be a first offence for them could give him a 3 game ban just to keep RM happy.

Just saw that.. Fucking well done FIFA!.

Sure alot of the 4months be taken by the off-season but that isnt the point. Finally a statement been made that this is not acceptable

edit:
9 matches of next season missed.. so quarter of the season before he commits any further offenses...

so that 2 seasons in a row he missed 6+ matches at start of season. LOL

FIFA - We need to speak to our lawyers as we do not know if the administrative part of the ban means he is unable to enter into any transfer negotiations!
..
Quite interesting that this is such a rare punishment, they dont even know how the rule works themself!

(oh, forgot also the 9 matches missed next season is just LEAGUE matches... he will of course miss all the cup games)

Although even if he were to transfer the ban would still be in effect surely since it is all foot activity.

Aye, the ban will still be in effect if he transfers... they just dont know if he allowed to transfer in the first place.
Double punishment for liverpool there as they cant even cash in on him now, would need to wait till january at the earliest if that is the case. Though they can enter negotiations with clubs now i suppose and have the transfer in place for the move in January if htey cant sell him this window.

edit:
Waiting to hear Liverpool's outrage in regards to the ban ... statement being prepared!

...
And yeahy! Im still the oddball that voted for France to win. Just wanted to be different :D
