Aye, it was changed recently though - Schools could decide in the past, I never used to go on holiday in school time, but when my brother was in Year 8, and I was like Year 5ish, and my younger brother was 5-6, we managed to get two weeks off school in October to go to Florida, because the school decided it was acceptable for us to go. (infact, the secondary school contacted the primary school to double check the attendance)

We went on Holiday every year, but never during school time until this, so they didn't really have much of a problem with it.

There are parents that abuse it though, and say yeah, we want them to go to Pakistan to see their uncle (this happened a few times in the school I worked in) - But yeah, it's religious reasons, and this was just before they made it harsher and the fines higher.

The funny thing is that most 'immigrant' families expect their kids to do well at school, but then some take their kid out of school so much that it hampers their education a shit load, then they blame the teachers.

I say let them go on holiday if they're aware of the impact it has on their children.

Suarez incident aside, I always back Italy, but apart from Pirlo (at a push...) they're a bunch of ghosts. Italy didn't look like scoring in this game and the previous game - it's only when they *had* to score to stay in it that they looked remotely threatening. They scored two against England because they happened to suck even more.

I'm bored with Italy, that's two world cups of the same average formula, they need to change.
