my point was partaily that Rooney is massiveley overated but that last post was in response to me saying he was more of an attacking midfielder and Moriath saying he's the top scorer in qualifiying. Stats lie :p
I like the new set up personally and I think the team should be built around the pace of sturridge, sterling, barkely, lallana and (eurgh) Welbeck. If Rooney can slot in as a proper number 10 then all for the better, if he can't they shouldn't be scared to drop him, he's not good enough to build the team around, he's not Ronaldo or Messi or Saurez.

I think Rooneys great but he's no where near those other guys at all.

The defence gave Neymar acres of space.
Yup but the keeper was practically in Brazils half when Neymar hit it straight down the middle of the goal. Hilarious

I hope Cameroon win this tbh, some of the Brazil players seem to think they've got a god given right to win because it's on Brazil. And Neymar is a tosspot

Brazil look like they could be awesome if they dropped Fred, Hulk, Paulinho and Alves

Fernandinho has already had more impact than Paulinho has in all the matches. Gustavo is a rock so it's a no brainer imo.

Also wtf is the point in Hulk?

Croatia looked really good against Brazil, but they were very poor tonight. Couldn't break the Mexicans down at all. Last 20 minutes made up for the previous 70!

Goals goals goals!

Last update until next Monday night or Tuesday morning as I'm going to Glasto later today.

Bets for the next few days:

Back Bosnia: £338 @ 2.22
Lay Swizerland £1351 @ 1.48
Lay the draw (Nigeria v Argentina): £250 @ 4.0
Back Belgium: £694 @ 1.8
Back USA: £114 @ 11.02 (I got partially matched at 11.5 as well as at 11).

That's it for the group stages!

From what I can see, the Brazil v Chile market looks to be sensibly priced up, I expect I wouldn't bet on it.

Current overall profit: £7848.77.

Not betting on England v Costa Rica? The price you get for a Costa Rica win at the moment are ridiculous considering they're top of the group and England are utter wank.

I addressed that point earlier. Essentially, we use two different models to decide to bet and in this case they fundamentally disagree about the game. Intuitively, yes, Costa Rica are probably going to win and England have nothing to play for except giving some young guys their first cap. However, you don't run profitable betting strategies on intuition (normally) and I can't justify the bet when my spreadsheet says "no".

Aye I read that mate, I was just wondering if your SuperBettingComputer had anything to throw up about the game. The odds mention was just for the scrubs like me who do go on intuition and inevitably lose everything :p

I'm sorry but gamblers who think they have a system to win are a parody of an addict gambler.
Occasionally an outsider team may beat a giant, but occasionally describes it, the odds are there to keep bookies rich
and anyone who says they can beat the odds, you could spend years putting a 100 quid on outside bets and eventually a big win would come in, but of course statistically it is very unlikely to even cover your bets.
All the gamblers I know, talk of big wins, never have any money.

I can't even be arsed to finish early from work tonight. Might see the second half, if I get around to it.

Schools aren't really to blame for the new guide lines though, it's the local authorities.

Schools should be allowed to have full control over time kids have off - if you have a week off and you're there for 5 years, and it's the only time you have off - have it for fucks sake, but when there's a religious kid who has every other day off due to religious reasons, the school should be told that it won't be racist to tell them no...

Anyway, back to football.

Are you, yet again, trying to call me a losing junkie? It's so hard to tell if you're talking to me or others in this thread.

Schools have authority up to five days over that it's up to the local authority if they fine the parents.

I think that if you study things enough and look at the ratios you can minimise the loss chance. But as chilly said he doesn't try to not lose but puts his money where the indicators that he uses show differences in his favour over the odds the bookies are using.

You still run the risk of losing each and every bet but have to hope the variables you use show you a more than fifty percent chance of winning I guess. You always need to be prepared to lose what you pay out. You are only addicted and out of control if you start betting the rent and stuff
