Phones get dropped, cases are fugly.

In defence of the SGS3, the cases for it are extremely minimalistic and "wrap around" - you barely notice it where as the iPhone needs more "bumper" going on.

I have a Barely There case for my S2. I don't know how much protection it would provide with serious droppage but you do indeed barely notice that it's there. If anything it makes the S2 feel better, it's so bloody slippery without the case on (trying to prop it up against something for example).
