I've just read Magician, Silverthorn and am now 75% through A Darkness at Sethanon. Must be the 4th or 5th time I've gone through them.

Silverthorn is not as lame as my memory says it was, but I dislike Feist's method of coming up with answers to all kinds of shit through "mystic" means, or knowledge known to someone conveniently just met, etc. That's also the reason I find the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind so lame :(

I've enjoyed the whole series; a bit of a return to form because the last couple of Ringworld books were a bit shite and this new series rehabilitates the Ringworld as well as bringing back characters from the original Known Space stories (and you really need to have read Neutron Star, Protector and Tales of Known Space to get the most out of this series).

Loved Footfall - one of the classics from Niven and Pournelle's 70s heyday.

I'd love to read the whole niven/pournelle catalog but you can't seem to get them in digital form anywhere. Bit of a pisstake really, you'd expect the nerds to be all over the sci fi first!

My favourite trilogy of books in any genre, lost count of how many times I've read them. I've just read the Rick Riordan Percy Jackson books, they're aimed at kids but they're quite good and centre around Greek mythology, which is one of my geek interests.

I picked this up as something new to read on my kindle for 77p the other day and am really enjoying it.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Martian-ebook/dp/B009IEXKXI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361657720&sr=8-1#_

An astronaut gets left behind on Mars because all his colleagues think he's dead, and its about how he tries to survive using the habitat and whatever else has been left behind.

Really good, about halfway through and enjoying it loads so far.

Might have to borrow that off you then Shags, sounds good (and yes I am that skint that I can't afford 77p!)

The Daylight War - Book 3 of the Demon Cycle by Peter V Brett

Been waiting for 2 years for this, the 1st two books were top notch, up there with some if Gemmel and Feists best work.
