Back to work in the office today.

Crutch/hobble to work was knackering, longish walk to the station, lots of changing and stairs.

Eye isn't doing as well as I thought it was, getting out in the real world really shows up that problems. At least the foot has proper, gradual healing that I can feel. Eye is a bit of a concern. Hard to tell how much is fucked and how much is the responsibility of eye drops (although not had any today and I can only just read this with my left eye, no sharpness at all and the black floaters are still there).

A fracture is a break. The bone has been split into two or more pieces.

Nah, a break is a break, a fracture is a fracture.

I've had multiples of both 'cause I'm well 'ard* :)

*or well-soft depending on how you look at it.

Moorfields is where I'm being treated already. My follow-up appointment is this time next week.

Ok. If you say so.
I'll make sure my surgeon friend gets his facts straight in future.

You better had. Turns out both me and him are wrong.

A fracture is a complete or incomplete break in a bone resulting from the application of excessive force.

But then, I've never claimed to have medical training... ;)

Impossible to tell, it's a whole area that's affected rather than individual spots.

Hmm - that doesnt sound good tbh but you are in good hands at moorfields.

Edit - oh and are you claiming on the football clubs insurance - presumably they have some?

No longer need the eyedrops \o/ but the eye's still got a long way to go.

Not had any eyedrops since Sunday and they are still having some affect on my vision. Mentally strong. Hopefully in the next few days I'll see what my vision in that eye is like without unnecessary dilation. Still have lots of floaters etc. Have to go back in 6 weeks for more tests.

11-a-side, probably not. I'm always going to have some kind of issue with my feet even after this heals and as it was I was already playing on borrowed time with a dodgy knee.

5-a-side I might well do as it's much less punishing. No studs, no slide tackles, no overhead height, much shorter games.

Still a long way from a return to playing in either case.

Think I took a couple of shit mobile pics when it happened, I'll have a look sometime. They're not very interesting, most of the damage is inside!

These were the crappy mobile pics, swelling on the foot doesn't show too well, although you can kind of tell by the fact the ankle isn't all knobbly.

Eye was a couple of days after so some of the swelling and cuts had gone.

Nothing exciting!

First re-scan results are in:

It's not healed. It's barely tried to heal. In one place it's actually got worse. I'm now in an air cast boot and they've taken blood to test to see if I have any deficiences that are causing the bone not to heal properly.

Minimum of another 6 weeks. :(
