No, not really. Or at least in the context of a nuclear weapon going off, it wouldn't make a lot of difference.

Literally no chance of a no-fly-zone over all of Ukraine for that reason. It means being willing to shoot down Russian aircraft by NATO troops rather than giving Ukrainians the weapons to do it themselves. Sure we could do that easily if Russia didn't have nukes. But they do. So we won't.

I could imagine limited ones around NATO borders for humanitarian reasons but that isn't going to help Kyiv / Karkhiv much.

The question is what happens when Russian aircraft (inevitably) bounce into NATO airspace as the conflict moves west and south-west? Lots of twitchy Poles and Romanians at the moment.

Someone might need a word with the #FBPE lot on Twitter, including their Blue Anon leader Carole Cat Lady, as they are salivating for one to own teh Boris.

Probably bigger things going on right now than squabbles over a vote we had 6 years ago.

The way it's going, I am not sure if we will be able to avoid conflict, in which case the Russian military will be destroyed. Who knows what the madman will do after that but he certainly won't surrender.

NATO could destroy the entire Russian military in a week if only conventional weapons were in scope. It's not even remotely close.

That's what's allowed the Russian kleptos to siphon off the money to their own pockets rather than invest properly in their military. They always have the nuke card to say 'you can't really fight us'.

I wouldn't be too worried about that. Turkey has shot down the odd one before with no comeback.

She's not the only one so I don't think it exactly correlates to remainers. And it won't happen anyway.

And "Blue Anon Cat Lady" characterisations ignore the fact that Russians continue to invest millions in the operations that she is talking about so I'd discount the fact that you consider it doesn't work as irrelevant. If the people paying for it over 10+ years think it works then it's an issue.

This is very different.
I don't think it will be. If we warn them in advance that NATO airspace is being defended then what can they complain about? It's NATO airspace.

Or we could just invade russian airspace to defend NATOs airspace. Russia will obviously be fine with that

Fire the fucker back tbh
We definitely need to be sucking the air out of the lungs of the ruski soldiers who aren't instantly evaporated.

Ukraine can't win. They should just let 'em in, hide their weapons and get it over with at minimum possible loss of life, IMO.

Scouse If we ever got invaded by Russsia or another country and the soldiers were shooting civilians and military alike, would you ask the local army to lay down their arms and leave you undefended, and would you also refuse to defende your family?

Still paying the gas bills.

We don't really give a shit.

Suddenly the Insulate Britain lot seem a lot more relevant. Because insulating as many houses as we can, while replacing our gas central heating systems with ground/air source pumps that run on electricity (which we have far greater control of the generation of), is a good way to reduce reliance on foreign gas.

Nah he will be there on the streets handing out his chicken eggs to the invaders who have run out of food.

It's not what's happening in Ukraine.

Some civilian casualties are occuring - absolutely. And part of that is because they've handed out weapons to civilians. Ukraine's government needs civilian casualties if they're going to fight a protracted guerilla war against an occupying force. There's nothing more motivating to a people than deaths of family members. And the Russians know this - so they're discriminating between civilians and military - not "shooting them alike". Because that would be a massive own goal.

But feel free to invent whatever fantasy situation you like and attribute whatever answer you think applies to me, and apply it. You don't need my input for that :)

They are bombing civilians. Armed, unarmed, adults, children. Indiscriminately.
