Only person with something to gain there is Ukraine - telling the west "look what happens when you start to negotiate with our invaders behind our backs". It's the only lever they've got left to pull...

...and a really good argument against Nuclear.

No just your habit of reinterpreting everything that others have said to try and claim some sort of non-existent win as usual but in that way, I guess you share two things with Trump.

I dunno, it's whatiffery, if the US didn't back Ukraine Russia probably would have rolled them with a much worse out come, but who knows maybe Trump's peace will be temporary for Russia to get ready for when they stop being Team America.

Well it looks like Trump has chosen a side... There wasn't ever any doubt that he would eventually pull this.

He's been all pally with Zelenski through the election process and giving them some hope, calling him great etc etc...

But as if by magic, he's pulled a complete 180 and now Zelenski is the devil. Blaming Ukraine for the war starting. Impressive

It was always going to go down like this. US analysts have always said tha Russia comes out of it with some land and the West comes out of it with a bloody nose and a bad taste in the mouth - and that Ukraine will feel betrayed.

Right or wrong (and most people think 'wrong') this was always going to be the outcome. If we'd have reached this years ago we might have been able to do it without what looks like about a quarter of a million deaths and a million overall casualties.

I only hope that all of this brings the UK closer to Europe, where it always should be. And despite anything Putin or Trump might say, Putin has lost in pretty much every sense of the word. Lost a million fighting men. Lost a tonne of armour and ammo. Lost an awful lot of exports to the west. And grown the size of NATO at the same time. And if Ukraine joins the EU, they're going to be receiving the kind of investment that Putin can only dream about. And the EU will surely be looking to detach itself from Russian fossil fuels permanently.

And if Trump bows down to what Putin wants, that will make him appear weaker in the eyes of everybody else. I can't see that going down well over there.

It's worth highlighting with the above animation that stable democracies tend not to declare war on other stable democracies.

After how Trump has gone after Zelensky, calling him a Dictator whilst simultaneously BLOCKING him from attending the peace summit in Saudi. America is just dogshit as far as I'm concerned, Europe and the UK will defend the Ukraine, let the Americans fuck off and eat themselves to death, fat useless sacks of fucking shit that they are.

I don't normally get bothered by world politics but trump calling Zelensky a dictator while sitting down with Putin for a "Peace Summit" really boiled my fucking blood.


The USA is no longer a democracy, its a fucking dictatorship, its basically China 2.0 under Trump/Musk
