I've just bought me mum a new laptop and it comes with windows 8..holy fuck shit of fucks..what a a steaming pile of shite, did they really look, just once look at it before putting it out for sale.
I thought Vista was bad, but this makes it look like a god of UI's, you click on a picture and then click back to see the next one and it takes you to a screen with choices for displaying every fucking time,,it's like th worst theme ever forced upon you, if I downloaded this shite for XP I would delete it in 5 seconds.

Linux? now that Steam is Linuxized I'm again having serious doubts about Windows. Only reason I have a windows install is to play games.

I'll agree that at times OT was a bit cringeworthy in that people seemed to put Ez on a pedestal because she was the only "active" female. However she was also probably the nicest person on there.

Wow. People need to get off the W8 hate-wagon and learn to use the software. It's a metric tonne faster and makes finding things easier. (I've fully adapted to it now) 8.1 will change a few things and make it better though.

It's a waste of money if you already own win7 and don't have a touch screen. That's not hating.

Edit, I just timed myself "finding something" on my win7 work PC. around 3 seconds from the pointer being in the middle of the screen to finding what I was looking using the search function. I don't think a metric fuckton faster is really worth shelling out for!
