I always wondered this. In my mind i dont think i would have any negative feelings killing some thing. Whatever it was. But i have never felt the need to try it out. So no empathy is true.

Tbh. I havent found anything that shocks or repulses me like people seem to do. I been all over 4chan with pics that could be described a graphic, from isis murders to anything you like to describe probably and non of it bothered me. I guess from this thread thats not normal. i see why others would react to it. But i dont have that reaction.

Which was the original purpose of my post... To see if his statement about not caring about how livestock was treated could be taken to the extreme and it would still hold true. Seems he really does have no empathy at all.

To be fair some people just don't think in that way, if you go on Facebook you'll see a million and one things we should be outraged about this week, so people tend to prioritise.

Personally I don't eat anything that I know has been treated poorly as far as I can - battery hens, foie gras etc, other than that I'm not too concerned. Living near the sticks I know a lot of farmers and none of the slaughter methods particularly concern me, other than aforementioned halal and kosher.

Halal and Kosher are perfectly fine for killing in small communities, but to suggest it has a part to play in the killing of millions of animals a day in cities is farcical.

And yet large countries (Indonesia, Malaysia) with huge populations seem to manage that just fine.

We have enough empathy to kill in as painlessly as possible. But we have no problem with killing a perfectly healthy animal just because it tastes nice. We do not need that food to survive there are alternatives so we are still choosing to have the animal we cared about killed. So there are still levels of empathy And I agree with you if I found out that Tesco Finest Steak came from animals that were tortured I would sure as shit stop eating it.

But I do know 100% for a fact that if I had to kill what I eat I would be a vegetarian and would start to like Quorn and Tofu lol. So I suppose as long as I do not think about it I am happy enough that a cow died for my burger but if I had to pull the trigger, forget that.

Had an issue with Chrome on Android. It was auto updating without permission. I turned off auto updating in the Play store but it was still updating. People are going ape shit in the Google Product Forum as Google are basically stealing data and at 50mb a go, eating up data allowances.

Found a fix. You need to be rooted and have Titanium Backup installed. Go into Chrome in Titanium and Detatch it from the market. Sorted. Hasn't tried to update yet

Google are gits.
