I found the fight afterwards vs Jager much harder than the gates of hell, if you can't 1 shot the additional unions then you will really struggle. I had to load an older save game and did it on a slightly higher BR with a few higher level arts.

My friend had the exact same problem, and i warned him he wouldnt be able to. But that lucky bastard learned Rez exactly in the beginning of the fight. With two unions.

I also found the Jager fight harder -and again it was luck that got me through it. Had to reform my unions a few times until I found one that worked for me.

Had the luck to be able to call Cyclops on my first turn and deadlock Jager.

There is too much luck involved.

I did do things to improve the fight by messing with the unions, and changing Rush's equipment to a two handed sword with massive defense, as I had no two handed grip combat arts I was limited to mystic arts -this let me use caustic blast more often. But really if I had not been able to cast cyclops, at the start of the fight, talismans gift later, and deus ex machina towards the end, then I would have lost as I did on the 15 or 20 attempts before.

Up to the 6 bases
Why are the 6 boss battles to get into koenigsdorf so easy? Especially after the pain of the gates of hell and Jager. If you have done a few side quests before this point you will have a pretty strong party, I have mine made up mainly of leader characters. Only died against the first base boss, after that did the others first time. Game's learning curve seems to go up and down.

Done one of the "extra missions" and defeated the jahna (sp?) family in the heroic ramparts. Got a nice set of purple weapons from them. Currently at BR85 and just done the 6 bases and Koenigsdorf. I am not grinding much really, though I have been trying to hunt down all the rare mobs and doing all the side quests.

I'm only at BR 57 and am at the same point as you. How hard did you find the 6 bosses at the bases? I have quite high AP, and some very good unions with mutiple remnant attacks, found I had the option to do remnant attacks very often and it made it very easy. Also high level caustic blast, blackout etc made dealing with the minions childs play.

I found them pretty easy really, did them all and the last boss without dying. I use 3 melee groups and 1 healing/magic DPS group. Every group has the ability to res in case the healing group gets killed and limited healing for "hang in there" which comes in handy sometimes.

I wouldn't call it a "peace of piss" easy, you still have to think about which targets to take out first and try to avoid wasting utility on initial deadlocking but generally speaking the story line battles are very difficult to lose (Aside from the gates of hell/Jager fights)

I am planning on attempting the gates of hell bonus fight tonight, he is in the aqueducts and kicked my arse last time.

It means that anyone can do the main story and finish the game but for those who want more of a challenge there are the extra fights.

I got bored of this game very fast. Sucks being really picky when it comes to games.

Personally i think it's games that bore you quickly that tends to be the gems :) If you stick past the part when you start to get bored you tend to find the game a lot deeper etc than at first glance. In my opinion this looks like just one of those games :)

Ofc there are games that sucks but bore you quickly too, but those are quite easy to spot :)

Really, you have to spec them how you want your unions setup but generally -

Torgal - Don't give him Leraje Princeps; tell him to go Combat Arts both times when he asks and never have him use a spell (disable in his Arts) if you wish to learn Hawkarang - OR - Let him upgrade swords, tell him to go Mystic Arts both times, and have him focus on Invocations if you want the AoE weapon art (forgot it's name)

By big fish dude do you mean Blocter or Baulson? Baulson can also learn Hawkarang and is one of the best statistical character in the game, he's easy enough to spec. Same goes for Blocter really, just make sure he keeps his shield (say no to any two-hander he asks for) and have him learn Remedies; Baulson can too.

Either way, both Baulson & Torgal are excellent leaders - Baulson for Combat Arts union leader and Torgal can be either depending on the path you put him on.

As for Emma - get further in the gamex

I've made some quite detailed posts so it'd be worth your while reading the previous pages.

The eagles nest right, I can make 4 unions and have 12 people in total, so am I best doing 4 groups of 3, or 2 groups of 5 with a smaller group of 2, or 3 groups of 4?

I had 5 members of the 7 in using Eremurus Stream - Basically each slot on the union grid has a bonus, but it rotates every time you load the game. Say bottom 3 slots could be mystic bonus, 2nd row combat arts and last defence bonus. No one can confirm exactly how it works as of yet but that's what I made of it. You can easily see which slot has what bonus by doing a random fight and having people just use attack

Melee in Mystic slot is gonna do 200-300 damage :p

wow -but that means you have no idea of the stats from the union board?

I move people into different slots and it effects the union stats, but they are all much lower than in other formations...

Don't take notice of the formation's stats unless you're comparing rank 1's only, becuase some formations have huge improvements per rank (Eremurus is one of them) and does not update the listed stats

Ok, the nest of eagles is impossible. I have no chance.

I heard that 2 x katanas are the best weapons for Rush, but I have been using a 2 handed weapon, so I take it i need to grind to learn some moves for the katanas yes?

Also, im trying to level Rush's mystic arts so I can learn arcanas. To level his mystic arts, do I just keep attacking with mystic arts? I need to learn spark 5, and im at spark 4, but it seems he just wont level to spark 5!

Keep using spark and it'll upgrade to 5 - Higher battle chain speeds it up

There is no "best weapons" for Rush

NoE is very doable, did it my first playthrough at BR40 or something and when I statgrinded on 2nd playthrough I did it at BR4

Is nest of eagles the Khana mission for the silver falcons? I did that around br 45. With Rush I find dual wield the best, I use two best rare mid sized weapons I have with him.

What do you get after spark level 5 btw? Nearly there. Also level 4 on caustic blast.

edit:// on nest of eagles try using a different formation, the trick is to take out the jhana units as quickly as possible, use area attacks if possible. I had caustic blast at a high level and blackout as well.

If one of my homies wants something that I need to harvest or dig for, do they automatically get it when Mr Diggs has dug it up?

No

Dig it up
Kill one mob
Enter a city
They'll ask for it
Say yes and you'll dupe it, they'll get one and you'll keep it

NoE is not a SF mission, it's where Emma defends Athlum
