I was woundering wether the webmaster would be kind enough to share the code with me... or if he got it from somewhere esle (which I doubt), he could point me in the direction of were he got it.

Either a) view source (as trebz says) or b) find a ludicrously similar dhtml / java applet that does the same job (there are countless ones about, as it goes)

I know I could just look at the source (but thats illegal right?) and anyway searching through those 'free sites' takes up and awful lot of time. Half the stuff on those 'sites' is a load crap anyway....

If viewing the source code of a website was illegal would browsers integrate the function? Get some skillz. It only becomes illegal when you steal the code and use it yourself. And I fail to see what your problems are with free code sites, I've always found them to be exceptionally useful and simple.
