To the mods, Really get a clue? i can understand warning people or banning people for offences.. like the above... but warning people for stupid things like saying you suck at daoc and such? spit your dummies and cry more?

So the only chance to actually get away from it is when mods do the job good. Also even if ur not a target its quite tedius to get every feckin post locked cause cant keep their mouth shut and have to attack someone in every thread. If something for once is getting intresting someone have to absuse and bam...thread locked. And i dont blame the mods for that which some obviosuly do, that would be like blaming the police every time they enforce the law and lock a guy breaking it everytime
So...the other alternative is another fourm which they are not to keen on. Or to make a whine section. That way the whiners can abuse and be more open there and it will be a chance for people not wanna read it to escape it. i could accept such a section. but not that it is spammed in the regular rvr section. And atm me and others have the rules on our side...
So bottom line. Either abide by rules , dont abide by rules and have this ongoing discussion( what i think is gonna happend

Just adding. read to second page of that post, and sure it was kinda funny though as you said it wasnt really even a discussion since the guy posting was clearly just taking the piss.And no...from the two pages i read i dont think it would have been locked either.

I for one wouldnt want to be a mod, doesn't matter if you like what they have done or not, they are the ones in the position to have to call the shots, and tbh with all the bad vibes on here it probably needs constant locking / deleting. can't anyone make topics about fluffy bunnies? or even better... about my pony club???

Okies time to sum up - poll not really useful but the thread give some good discussion. We hope it helped the mods make FH a better place (joke). We can have a discussion, some have an allergy to political correctness and XGenocidex gets the award of village idiot.

Mods too often lock a thread when in my view there is no justified reason. I also feel that mods are being too harsh on the bans.
In more detail..
- Mods lock threads which 'Should be PMs'. I disagree with this as a valid reason for locking. Seeing what has gone on between two people in game whilst letting other people see and comment on the incident is the reason for not PMing.
- Mods too often lock a thread when they could delete a reply and issue a warning. It's difficult to get this across to the moderators, but the feelings of pure rage which come over me when I see that a thread I was posting in or following is locked are unbearable. I generally feel very hard done by and pissed off. I also really do believe that people should be allowed to argue freely about things. If one person reports another then take action of course. But you as moderators must be fair to ALL people in the community, that is your charge.
To those who say: "its not your forum, you don't pay, piss off if you don't like it" I reply:
I want to be here. I would love this forum to return to the state as it was on Barrysworld where there was very minimal warnings and no locking (where the heck is Brinx now?).
A forum is made by the people who pay for it (which is now adverts) but it exists because of its community. Without us, it is just an empty IP address with a vbulletin. I am quite sure that the owners of the forum want the community to be as happy as possible whilst abiding by rules which ensure that they don't get into any trouble.
The over-zealous and downright bullying attitude of some moderators to stop any kind of arguing or discussion that they dont like is NOT in the spirit of Freddyshouse, it is not in the spirit of Excalibur and Prydwen and it is definitely not following the CoC. It does not stop the owners of FH getting into trouble. It is just a case of too many with too much power and not enough work.
So, im making a plea to the mods. Those of you that lock threads regularly and think nothing of it or get a slightly smug feeling. Please understand that there are those of us that read these forums every day and care about them. Please understand that every time you lock a thread, there are hundreds of people who are really pissed off with you.
