And that is what started his legend. I am sorry but everywhere he goes the press act like he revolutionises football and creates the best team in the world.
Do they? I'd say the press give him attention because he's quote worthy and creates theatre, but I don't think he gets a free pass from the press these days.
Bottom line is there's a pretty small pool of "elite" managers who've won stuff at the highest level, and in the list of "managers who've won stuff ever," by trophy count, he's the the only one of the top ten managers in history who's still managing. The question mark over him is whether he's past his peak years as a manager. It used to be that managers were expected to carry on into their dotage, but its increasingly turning into a (relatively) young man's game. The other question is whether he can play teams in the "United style", especially after the sterility of LVG; but statistically the view that Jose only plays negative teams isn't actually borne out. He can certainly play negative games, but not over entire seasons.
