Do they? I'd say the press give him attention because he's quote worthy and creates theatre, but I don't think he gets a free pass from the press these days.

Bottom line is there's a pretty small pool of "elite" managers who've won stuff at the highest level, and in the list of "managers who've won stuff ever," by trophy count, he's the the only one of the top ten managers in history who's still managing. The question mark over him is whether he's past his peak years as a manager. It used to be that managers were expected to carry on into their dotage, but its increasingly turning into a (relatively) young man's game. The other question is whether he can play teams in the "United style", especially after the sterility of LVG; but statistically the view that Jose only plays negative teams isn't actually borne out. He can certainly play negative games, but not over entire seasons.

I think the main issue is that he just wont stop whining about people playing negatively against his team when they need to, then does the exact same thing with his own team the following week.

They had flashes of "looking terrifying" last season but it was usually followed by an average performance. Let's hope that's not changed...

Surely you mean those shithole terraces which over the span of decades Liverpool bought and allowed to fall into a state of neglect with the end goal being them forcing out people who wouldn't sell or move. It's a fucking disgrace!
