Yeah, intent, his challenges were dangerous and he meant it imo.

They were wreckless...same as Shawcross, and thus should be tarred with the same brush. Henry was over-the-top critised for his, which apart from the Gomez one were all 50/50s.

And anyone who doesn't acknowledge that Stoke are a dirty bunch of cretins that the Prem would be better off without needs to be shot. Dirty bastards.

Yeah chanting his name, after being booed by the arsenal fans. Wouldn't think football fans would ever do that.

Arsenal fans are far too far up Arsene's arse, it was just one of those things. Wenger should have known better than trying to criminalise a young footballer.

Have you ever been to a match? Wait obvious answer.....

Chanting Shawcross to wind up Arsenal, that was the intent by that, not because he was being booed you muppet. He got the reaction he deserves, and every god damn team boos Stoke, probably one of the most hated teams in the Prem currently.

That is old news tbh. THe lineup of a £1.5billion bid been rumoured since the PIK was paid off and the creation of the new parent company.
We got greedy fucks in charge though who apparently want £1.8-£2 billion for a club that if anything they devalued during their time of ownership, not over doubled.

i just had a look at the actual story on daily mail and they also suggest the possibility of the Red Knights group and Qatar group making a joint bid, would that be welcomed by the fans?

i guess it would depend on who would actually be in charge!

Hate joint bids most the time, depends on how it is organised. Basically puts extra people in the mix that could cause arguements with one wanting to do something and the rest not.
As much money as the Red Knights have got, they could never keep up with the spending power of the Qatar Group. So if they did want a new stadium (long shot and not necessary) or wanted to spend £250m on youth development each year to set up something like Barcelona then it possible that the Red Knights wouldnt be able to aid in the funding thus causing a rift in the club. Afteral if they cant pay for it, qatar group do it, then there could be issues with how the money earned from players through this new youth system is dealt with.

Would it be better then now? Probably as it would remove the debt which is a great thing.. but it could have problems if not set up right.
As we have a foriegn owner already, I have not got the problem with another foriegn owner taking over, especially with the removal of the debts.

you are so bitter Everz.

Cant blame him, look at where his team is!
And Stoke are physical but rarely cross the line into dangerous play, although they conceed alot of fouls it rarely is one that would cause a bad injury (or injury fullstop). They play shit football but they managing to stay in the league. It up to the other teams to relegate them if they dont like the style of play.

Get to fuck. Whats to be bitter about, I can't fathom why Stoke fans watch them, it's beyond boring. Remember chanting at them as to why they enjoyed it and they kindly shut the fuck up. They were winding Arsenal in with the Shawcross lark. They are over-the-top physical side and a representation of football of a long gone era. It's the sort of football that England and the Prem do not need. Don't scream that Stoke don't have the players to actually play football, because they do, and have done on the odd rare occasion. Even Blackburn/Bolton have turned a corner and both are decent footballing team.

If you are moronically linking this to something to do with my club and them being a mile above us. All I can say is that i'd rather go down being entertained then been bored to death. Any of the other clubs down there would do the same.

Erm, yeah. I was just making a joke Everz, I can't actually remember what I said about Henry at the time, and have no inclination to dig it up, but I don't think I criminalised him to the same extent Shawcross was by Arsenal.

I haven't talked at all about Stoke's play style, the bitter comment was just because you went into one (and are still there).

Other clubs have changed style because of a new manager, so it's hardly down to just the players. I also made the comment because you went with the plastic fan route. Good for you, you go to games, I can't afford to - even if I supported a more local team. I can barely afford sky to be able to watch the games. I go to games when I can if Man U are in London, but that's neither cheap nor easy to do.

Chill the fuck out.

A couple of things that kind of get forgotten about the Shawcross tackle:

1. Yes, the ball was 50-50, but just look at the pace he goes in for the ball, it's completely out of scale with the game and all other players.
2. There is a law in the rules of the game stating that if a player goes in a reckless manner without thought of potential injury, it's a straight red card.

Yes, he did NOT intend to injure him, but to suggest it's a fair challenge is nonsensical and goes against the written, accepted laws of the game. That's why Arsenal fans have a bit of a problem accepting the challenge. Even if there had been no permanent injury it's still very dangerous. We don't want 50-50 challenges outlawed, but we do ask for some kind of common sense in regards to the amount of force used.

Comparing him to Scholes is a bit silly though, he was never going to be Scholes.

He was right about that man being available in the summer but he was wrong about who. It was Ozil.

To be quite honest ... Ozil was never available to Ferguson. Wouldnt been possible to talk him into coming over to England.
That said, VDV wasnt available at a good price until the deal fell through and they wanted a quick offload before the window slammed shut.
