That said, do you remember when liverpool won the champions league and finished 5th? The factman was saying to the press that "The cup winners should defend their trophy". So if they win the thursday night channel 5 cup and finish 4th in the league, I take it they will be forfitting their champions league place to defend their trophy?

Nothing to do with the league. Because Pompey were in administration they were unable to file their financial paperwork with UEFA, meaning they are not eligible for Europe next season.

So the premier league, the FA, fuck all to do with them.
