OMG WE'RE GOING TO WEMBLEY ... oh wait

Mostly a dull game. Villa looked like they got tired at the end again, just like JT said and MON denied :p

Anyway, enough of the rough and tumble premiership, the BIGGEST game of the season so far is shortly upon us, where the best player in the world is up against his predecessor.

Ive got messi and ronaldo to both score at 5/1

lmao at barcelona mobbing the referee constantly

Real madrid been the better side but they shut off at the quick freekick and was punished by a somewhat sloppy goal to conceed (poor defending, messi control was a bit weak and should have been cut off before he got back on it)

edit:
lmao. Ramos tried to take a quick freekick and hit a barcelona player to get them booked. He missed the player but still complained to the ref

It was, just Corran doesnt appreciate Class

He wanted it closer to his body, look at how he shapes to take the ball. Anyone that has played football and has an understanding can see what he was trying to do.
Defender should have cut it out pretty easy after that, he had time to react but didnt and it cost them a goal.

I appreciate class, the quick thinking in the freekick, the run by messi and the pass over the top was class. The control wasnt (looked class but as said it easy to see that wasnt what he was trying to do), and nor was the defending.

I bet carrick would have stopped him.

Doubt it. The string from messi's shorts would have gently brushed against him and Carrick would have gone down like hes been shot.

given his performance midweek carrick would have got to the ball first, then passed it back to messi to score a goal.

Another thing didnt mention in that whole debate. Vidic also arrived at the time Utd returned to their best. Infact iirc Vidic has won the league title every year he been in the team. Will have to check that though.

I had pique in mind. lol. Never wanted to lose him (or Rossi).

Evans has the potential to replace him, at least as a temp measure. With a top class partner he has always done well, when it him and another fringe player you can see he is not a fully developed centre back.

Our newest defender purchase is meant to be a future Ferdinand replacement, but he has shown at fulham in recent weeks that he makes alot of mistakes. Dont know if it the pressure of the higher media coverage on him, but it hasnt looked like a good deal (£7m purchase oO)

Pique is having a great game at the moment, but you never know if they will be suited to the premiership. Whenever I saw him for united, he didnt look out of place.

There arent many world class CB's about these days

Nice finish by the lad, opened up his body well and placed it well.
Great ball through as well, though defender was sleeping. Anyone that seen barcelona knew that was the pass they would look for, they rip teams apart with it all the time.

Wish united had a player with that kind of passing quality in our midfield, we truelly do lack that bit of finesse at the moment

edit:
lol should be 1-2. VDV was awful there. Shows the difference in the 2 players composure

Ive seen Ronaldo hit the deck about 10 times this game from hard tackles. I wonder if he will moan to Marca about how he gets no protection?

a real striker puts the ball in the net then worries about if he was offside or not though :)

confused how he won a freekick, but got booked for it. lol

Alves was kinda lucky to stay on pitch considering he already booked. Refs book them constantly for that kind of tackle (the one nearest area)

edit 2:
On centre backs. No there isnt really that many great centre backs now days. It has become a job of finding 2 centre backs that cover each others flaws. That why Vidic and Ferdi works so well.

Vidic is the hard tackling, good heading and more pure defensive centre back. He throws himself into everything, even if it will kill him.

Rio is the more withdrawn style that has more pace to work on the cover (not so much this season due to injuries/fitness) and sweeps up anything thing that slips past vidic.

Finding that partnership is tough, and I truelly do dread the day that Vidic leaves the club as there isnt many defenders of that type.

Does Sergio Ramos have naked photos of the ref? FIrst he elbows Puyol in the face and then karate kicks the genius and doesnt get booked for neither

3 points clear and the better head to head results. Dont forget, in La Liga it goes down to head to head, not points difference

head to head and not points difference? no point giving points then :D
<yes i know, you meant goal difference>

Been an easy game for barcelona this. real madrid been very wasteful, got a couple of good breaks and done nothing iwth them.. beyond that barcelona been simply passing it around unbothered.
