I'm not - I just don't get why you don't compare it to his time in barcelona where he was at his best :p

He had one season at Barcelona, a great season no doubt but his following 2 years at Real Madrid were pretty fucking awesome as well. The injuries kicked in at that, as far his his Madrid career anyway.

Cristiano will have far more great seasons than fatty ever did. Not take anything away from Big Ron, but injuries and scandal ruined his career, and probably his status as a real legend of the game. The one thing he will have that Cristiano probably never will is the World Cup medals.

he's still going strong. He's 33 now, yet still doing good in his current club. He has come back very strongly after all of his career-threatening injuries.

I agree that the injuries has ruined quite a lot for him though. He's still the best striker I've ever seen.

ah well, we won't get far with this discussion. I can't change the mancs opinion, and they can't change mine ;)

I would say that he would probably have been the best ever if he had stayed in Europe and done it. But it's too easy for him in south america. Cristiano will most likely still be going at 33 too, given his fitness.

He's fucking amazing soze, can't fault him. Let him have his fun at Madrid for a few years, he will soon realise where he belongs and come back.

English teams records vs Brazilian sides in modern times begs to differ though :D.

Theres alot more of them staying in Brazil these days, the standard of football over there is increasing tbfh.

In a few years you'll be plying your trade with Walsall.

£80 million is hardly shitting on us, just a shame the ginger midgets didn't reinvest the cash. Ronaldo is and will remain a legend at United, we don't forget our greats.

O'rly? What record is that then? World club championships? That is the only time I can think of where we play them at club level and let us be honest, it wasn't a competition we started taking seriously until recently.

I would bet my home on this, a full strength mid-table Premier League side would murder ANY South American club side if the game was played mid-season when the English side had reached thier physical peak. In short, Brazlian club football is overrated shite, mainly by the fanbois who support Brazil after thier own countries get knocked out of the World Cup! ;) :p :D

Fuck, even you know that the mighty Wolves could beat Sao Paulo. :D

Ok, ok. That is a stretch! ;)

Got to love Rooney, lovely diving header. He may just save my fantasy footy score if he can get a massive haul here.

In that sort of mood Rooney could have me regretting my attendance at Wembley on Sunday!

Scary isn't it? He could have had 6 tonight, his for is incredible at the moment. I just hope he can keep this form going into the World Cup, we might actually go far this time.

His movement and presence creates so much space for others as well, defenders get scared.

How good a signing is Valencia looking for Man United. A few eyebrows were raised at the time and he was also going to suffer because he had big boots to fill, but hes just getting better and better every time I see him. He was sublime last night.

When Ronaldo left we were always going back to a more traditional role for our wingers, Valencia fits that bill perfectly, fast, strong, and a great crosser of the ball. He is very like Rooney, Tevez, Park and Fletcher in that he has seemingly endless energy and chases everything.
