hahaha fuck the champions league. UEFA dont want us to win it quite obviously. every year we're knocked out under bullshit circumstance.

clear penalty there, probably a red too

I see Villa have bribed the linesman again, another goal from a corner that wasn't a corner.

To bad Inter didn't get the ball and scored when Cech was down. Would serve Ballack and Lampard right for not putting it out of play :p

About 15 minutes left at Villa park, and Palace have equalised!

Extra time please :)

Another CL game, another awful refereeing decision that gives a massive benefit to our opponent.

Would have taken the 2-1 happily if it wasn't for another injury and the lack of red/penalty.

Ah well chin up megadave, man city are looking like they will go into extra time at stoke, and Adebayor just saw red, so he won't be facing you on Saturday.

Becoming quite disillusioned in this competition tbh. Fairest exit we've had in recent years has been that penalty shoot-out.

Wouldnt be so bothered if we hadn't already lost Essien and Cech playing in it :(

This ref was pretty good though, he had one bad call, and that was more the linesman's fault. The game was pretty even, no blatant cheating.

One bad call like that is enough to completely change the tie.

Because Manchester United never get a dodgy decision, score a dodgy goal or get a dodgy 10 minutes of injury time. We were well worth the win, excellent performance from the Villa.

Let's see if you've got enough left in the tank for Sunday :D

Oh I doubt we'll win, but if we actually turn in a performance it will be better than the shitfest of an FA Cup final we served up with Chelsea in 2000.

I honestly think Hughes was better than Mancini has been, although neither have had/had enough time.

Cech could be a calf problem, i fucking hope so.

What because Balotelli was unable to con the ref into giving him a free kick? The boys got talent clearly but it seems Mourinho had a few snipers set up in the ground with their sights on Lucio and him :p

We looked well off colour yesterday, Anelka's had a poor few games and depending on who's fit for the second leg (hopefully we can get Zhirkov and Essien back in time) it may lead to us putting 2 up front.

Samuel is a dirty fucker though, should've been off and could've given a pen away with the late corner if the ref had spotted the shirt raping he gave Drogba.

I don't think 1-0 will be enough to go through at home though, i'd imagine Mourinho will just set up not to lose the game, whereas we really have to go for it and score at least twice.

Ahh fucks sake. That is a real blow, if Cole is not fit in time, then this could hurt us.

Good for Baines and Warnock, but Bridge was the better choice.

Wayne Bridge is only in the squad to start with because his reputation became unfairly promoted by playing for Chelsea.

Leighton Baines is better than him and hopefully now they'll see sense and call him up rather than going for someone like Lescott or Shorey.

Another player who is playing out of his skin at the moment but who won't be picked because his commercial personna isn't big enough is Leon Osman. He's been outstanding recently.

Have to agree - Bridge isn't a great defender really, you can get away with it when you've got Makalele/Carvalho/Terry and whoever was playing right-back at the time, but when you've got the likes of Toure and Lescott around, your defensive frailties are a little more exposed :p

I'd imagine it'll be between Leighton Baines and Neil Warnock now then, maybe both if Ashley Cole can't get fit in time for South Africa.
