I've got a soundcard built into my Asus A7V8X-X, but the problem is im only getting sound out of one of my speakers, I can get sound out of the other one if i stick on 3d Sound but its very faint, i've changed the speakers thinking it was them, but it wasn't I checked the volume settings to see if the sound was set to the left, but that was the problem.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

You say you checked the sound balance to make sure, did you check it for each of the different sources (wave etc.)? Not just the master.

The most obvious thing is the socket to your speakers is damaged.

Exactly. If the socket is damaged, nothing on the computer will fix it. Check the solder joints underneath the socket are tight on the board, it could be a dry joint.
