No it's not "solely to piss people off". Plenty of people i didn't deliberately annoy at all. Plenty of posts that were civil and just regular banter.

People grow up...people start families, get serious jobs, get responsibility...people get older.

This forum is 13 years old and before that BW for however many years. Very few people are who they were 13 years ago. Looking back at some of my early posts, especially in the DAOC section makes me cringe now, I was a different person.

Discussions have moved on from "lol, look at this cat pic" to some more serious subjects. Yes we have the odd "lol, look at this cat pic" thread but meh.

Lets just put it this way. There are a few (mostly three) people who gives out an seemingly unproportional amount of disagree, dislike, and facepalm towards a single other person on the forum. Some of those ratings are followed up by a quote and a post with a different viewpoint, some of them are not. Two of them have done it for quite some time, one of them tagged on recently (within the year pretty much).

Some people agree that this is going on, some people (mostly the afore(not)mentioned trio). Most people probably don't have an opinion in the matter.

But ALL of it is @old.Tohtori fault, and NO ONE else is to blame for the problems and toxicity we've had on the forums for the past year-ish or so <-- this is irony.

Thot is not innocent in all of this, far from it, but the last time he tried to better himself he got nothing but the same old shit in return. <-- this is my opinion from seeing things from a mostly neutral perspective.

I'm not going to say much more about any of this, because it is pointless. Quite a few people here should take a hard look at their own behavior and maybe, at least to themselves, think about how they act and maybe, try to act just a little bit different (This is also my opinion). Sadly it's probably not going to happen...

It's because he talks a lot of shit and only a certain number people can be arsed to hold him to account. Other people are clearly frustrated by him (as can be seen in this very thread) but aren't fussed enough to react but I like this place and it pisses me off to see him being so destructive with all the (what he admitted himself) trolling and fakeness. I think you will find that when Toht doesn't go batshit mode most people have perfectly normal discussions with him, its is only when he butts into threads/conversations and derails them that people tell him to fuck off.
