In my experience; patchdays means no play for two days and launches mean "wait for a month"

They are basically trying to run a complicated simulation that you would normally require an entire PC's RAM & CPU to calculate on some shared server infrastructure. It's no wonder that 1) the cities are so small 2) they are still overloaded and don't have enough servers. Even ignoring the DRM aspect, that's a retarded design decision.

Proper reception, time for it to settle and people to get proper opinions I can gauge. It's the type of game you can't judge effectively on day 1, will take a few days of gameplay to truly understand limitations etc.

I tend to think both steam and Origin are a bit of a rip off but then I shop around.

To be fair I have only used origin to register my free BF3 (came with gfx card) and to buy SW old republic.

...I would probably still use it to buy Sim City even at £10 over RRP! Went to town last weekend, took me two hours to park and pop into M&S!

The game itself is actually great, the service itself has been shit. There is a difference between the two.

Personally i had zero problems yesterday and it shows i logged 10 hours in the game already and that was logging in and out multiple times.

This morning i looked at the server list and they have added a lot more over night.
