It's because they don't have enough servers the same with every EA game on release week, FIFA, Battlefield, Need for Speed have these problems every year.

No they don't.

You don't queue up to play a single player game of FIFA.

No,you just can't get on the server period.

Battlefield 3 and Fifa 13 release weekend? I could barely play either it refused me and friends logging onto the server or you got on and got disconnected because they don't put enough servers on to handle the load.

It happens every year.

I'm talking multiplayer side of things here.

But you CAN play it SINGLE PLAYER. THAT IS THE POINT.

I would expect multiplayer games to have a few issues on launch. I do not expect to be locked out of a SINGLE PLAYER game due to SERVER issues.

So, what you are essentially saying is that EA are predictably bad at releasing games, in most cases releasing them in a totally unplayable state? Ergo, one would expect bad reviews of the released product?

They are predictable in not having enough servers up to deal with multiplayer.

It's quite simple; good game design dictates that IF there's a single player mode(no online requirement) then it shouldn't have a queue and in better cases no login.

If it's, like diablo, always online then a queue can be done.

This leads me to believe, since these aren't freshface indie devs, that this is a publisher decision for one reason or other, one being that they plan to go f2p at some point and prepare for thatvalid reason).

Now...what they should've done is say that it's an online only game, which would cause no problems since it's "what's on the tin".

Well EA run the servers nothing to do Maxis, EA just don't like spending money on servers that won't get used, same with Activision and D3 they would rather let the world burn than have 1-2 extra servers that don't get used and have to pay for them.

US Amazon have withdrawn the game from sale on their website, don't think I've seen that for well, ever.

Do EA enjoy committing PR suicide with every game they release or

a. they are just stupid and don't understand how negatively some of there releases are received
b. people stupidly keep buying them game so they don't care
c. they just enjoy pissing people off

Seems so, amazing way for them to push origin by basically saying "by our shit but beware, we'll ban you if you try and get a refund" they should have just stuck with Steam rather than trying to compete, they will never ever ever match Steam for revenue.

Damn I was going to buy and play this tonight :(

Does this online completely remove any chance of piracy? It's been a long time since I pirated a game but EA sure do know how to make me want to.

If someone does hack it, it'll be rife due to all this.

It delays its by about a week.

This is the problem with badly designed DRM, all it does is piss off people who have paid for it. Pirates will still pirate it.
