No they haven't, once it's done, it's done. There's no going back.

I'm not worried in the slightest anyway.
I heard that on some political show but can't find a thing about it....surely all the would have to do is resign the original (;

I suppose technically, they'll be a part of Europe, so if they do fail, we'll be picking up the pieces regardless.

Entry into the EU is not automatic, although personally I do not see it being a problem.

This is the whole thing with Yes, it's not really independence.

Lots of things are vague, lots of talking heads on both sides making stuff up. Personally I think it should be sorted out before any election. Far too many people basing their votes on blind nationalism or because they have decided to believe one set of lies over the other. Its not something that they can change their minds about in 4-5 years time.

... and nothing is guaranteed because absolutely nothing has been negotiated. It's a completely blind vote other than there will be some sort of "independence" at the end of it.

Meh. I still think the scots should do it.

Could be because UK politics is doing fuck all for the majority and shows no signs of changing in any direction other than for the worse, so if it pisses off a few politicians that's as good a reason as any...

No. I don't think it'd make a material difference to my life either way.

One thing that's guaranteed by a Yes vote, is a complete shake up of politics in the UK. It's an attractive reason.

Yup, we basically ignore everything going on in europe. With a more progressive neighbour above us who's political lessons we couldn't ignore because they dont speak english and we're lazy, it might improve public policy a bit.

Although I'm in favour of invading after they vote yes, and enslaving them all :)

Tbh, I can see the rest of the UK going mega-Tory if Scotland gets independence, that's why it's no big deal whether they get independence or not to the Tories.

If Scotland go it alone then Labour are finished so yes.

So I guess it would be a good thing for them to go independent. Labour getting in ever again would be a disaster.

Nah, boom and bust politics means that there needs to be two parties, all democracies have it.

Rly?

The last three Labour governments in particular have all enjoyed comfortable overall majorities, which the loss of Scottish seats would not have overturned. In 1997 Labour’s majority was 178, of which only 56 were Scottish seats; in 2001 their majority was 166, of which 55 seats were Scottish; and in 2005 Labour’s majority was 65, of which 40 were Scottish seats.

Nor does Labour’s recent electoral record in England suggest that the Tories would possess an innate advantage there. In 1997, for example, Labour obtained a majority in England alone of 127; in 2001 they had a majority there of 117; and in 2005 they secured a majority of 43.[7] True, in the 2010 General Election the Conservatives won 297 seats in England, compared to 191 obtained by Labour.[8] But this was off the back of thirteen years of Labour government, and the worst recession in living memory.

I see the Daily Mail has turned particularly nasty towards Scotland:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2745565/Savage-racism-turning-Scotland-no-zone-English.html

The amount of bullshite in that article is beyond belief. I don't even know where to begin:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...parents-reveals-phoned-say-Judgement-Day.html

"The Irn Bru-loving Scottish private schoolgirl 'radicalised in her bedroom''"

Fucking lol, what has a soft drink got to do Islamic radicalisation? Because she's from Glasgow and it's a opportunity to take a pop at the Scots in a headline?

I'm fairly certain that the Daily Mail is a satirical site these days.

Honestly @Big G I shouldn't worry about the Daily Mail mate, no one in their right mind gives a flying fuck what they write, no one believes a bloody thing they say......well I suppose people do but they are the old, bigoted idiots who have nothing else to think about and it beats waiting for God I guess.

Viz Top Tip -

DAILY MAIL readers. Club together for a flux capacitor and fuck off back to the good old days.

The only poll that matters is the one held on the 18th of September.

Just think about it though, the one true opportunity to really reboot politics in the UK - if you had the chance to do that, wouldn't you all take it?

Yes I would chum, but after it has been done and it has had it's shake up and the dust has settled and everyone is comfy they will all become the same lying, greedy, grabbing scum like before.
